Bama inlaws...

You think BOB is the worst coordinator on Saban’s staff? Have you seen the points their defense is giving up? Very un-Saban like.
The offense is 10th in points per drive. The defense is 17th is points per drive.

The defense has faced some really good offenses, and it ends up bringing their DFEI to a top 5 ranking. The defenses faced by Alabama have been pretty weak in comparison. People are kidding themselves if they think BOB is a problem at Bama though.

but OJ was full of BS because Bryce Young did have a chance to win a natty not to mention his Heisman award.
But he didn’t, and he never will with BOB calling plays. They had all the talent in the world last year, and this is a “down year” Bama wise. As we can see, they’re struggling in every game they’re playing.

I thought we were down to two choices based on the rumors. BOB is the first candidate that has surfaced who has guided a program in the upper levels of the P5. If we had hired O'Brien away from Penn State or from Houston before he crashed as a GM, everyone on here would be thrilled. He would not be a GM here so the Houston implosion is irrelevant and hopefully it was a lesson for him.

I will trust our AD to make a good decision until I have a proven reason not to. I will support any of the options on the table. Anyone we hire needs to have an incentive laden contract with a reasonable exit path after year four. Finally, we need to have the resources remaining to hire excellent assistants.

The first part can be a two-edged sword. He has spent a good bit of time at that level but it could end up he only does well when working with players/resources at that level (or at least ones comparable or greater than competition). Even Penn St wouldn't really refute that cause unless they replaced the entire team from transfer/recruiting class, they would of still had starters who were there from before even if they lacked depth.

O'Brien would probably be a more attractive option if it had come before Collins. The situation wouldn't of seemed so dire and we wouldn't of had Collins and staff poison the well on bringing in former Tech people.

Depending on how much truth there may or may not be in rumors, the AD may not be the only really making the decision here, or at least his is being forced against whatever judgement he may have.
