Benson berated

Not Benson related, but related enough I suppose.... Pretty good look here.

Soooooo.....time for some Dede aquarium trips?

Other than some bellyaching here about blowing leads, I thought we have been relatively controlled this year.

This screams of trolling by Georgia fans.
I'd like to believe that last part is the case but it's more likely that either Benson or this fan account are full of shit. No, I don't know why Benson would lie, but I can come up with a reason for that much easier than I can believe that people found him, harassed him and pelted him him with "stuff" on campus the day after the game.

edit: Benson told this story on Instagram not expecting some creeper superfan to be watching him. He made up or exaggerated a story about being hunted, cursed at and attacked with "stuff" as a way of deflecting attention/embarrassment from himself and onto some phony crazed superfan. There. That's more believable than this story.

"Throwed stuff at him on campus"...

How does he know they didnt just mishandle the stuff? People shouldnt berate fans for losing control of items in their hands...

Im a huge Benson fan. Silly controversy.

It has never even crossed my mind to throw anything at a Tech player who wants the same thing I do- a win.

It has crossed my mind to hit an official with a cinder block though.

I threw a soda on an obnoxious FSU fan in the student section when I was much younger. Not my finest moment.

Agree on the player thing 100%. Of course 18 year olds do some really dumb and illogical things. Their brains are not fully developed which explains some of it.

To be frank, I'm pretty happy to hear that there are students passionate enough about Tech football to throw something at a player the Monday after a loss. From what I can see from the fuddy-duddy stands, there aren't many Tech students that care enough to attend home games, much less watch road games on free TV, much less drive a couple hours to see a game in person, much less say something nasty to a muscled athlete, much less commit a crime by assaulting him with a piece of trash.

So, KirVonte, the silver lining here is that they care, they really care...

EDIT: On second thought, this is beginning to sound more legit. Only a Tech student would combine half-baked interest in the sport with such a poor grasp of the game that he would throw something at our leading rusher and best offensive player of the game. The team's a target rich environment and *that's* who they chose? A crime of opportunity, as they say. (Which, ironically, is also how you could describe the game itself.)

If they wanna play like crap and get blown out by their second biggest rival 3 years in a row they should go over to uga and see how their fanbase handles that.

I agree 100% with her. I've been a Tech fan my whole life and the one thing that drives me crazy about Tech fans is their pessimism and complaining. It's one thing to be honest and real about your team unlike some UGA fans that will never admit when they play bad, but to whine and complain rather than cheering and supporting is just pathetic. I get so tired of going to Tech games and no one is cheering until third down. If you go to other stadiums they are cheering and yelling on every down. BDS can get really load and its a huge advantage for our team but why wait until third down every time. And to berate a player on their performance is just childish. No one feels worse than they do about it. As fans and supporters we are suppose to build them and hints the word "support". It does us no go to beat down our team when they are down. Win or lose I will always support my team. They lay it all out on the field for our entertainment as we sit on our butts and complain. They deserve a fan base that will support them no matter what.

Damn, I worked as a landscaper through college. I held accounts for some major restaurants, credit unions, banks, business parks. He is lucky he is blessed with the opportunity to get a free ride through GT. My college work in the hot sun all summer long from before sunrise to well after sunset every ööööing day of the week, including Sundays, is what I had to do to pay my way through. I worked non stop summer and took as many night courses as I could fall, winter, and spring quarters. My job was threatened regularly by some of my customers for minor or nonexistent wrongs or just them wanting free services they didn't want to pay for (some were awesome, some asshole)

The biggest asshole customers I had were generally those in the wealthier areas. You'd have to beg those rich ööööers in the 10,000 square foot homes to pay you. You'd get the rundown of everything you and your crew did wrong and you'd sit there and take it like a ööööing man at 20 years old. Cut too early in the week so you ruined little Jr's birthday party with the grass being 1/16 of an inch too tall. Needs to look like a golf course. Of course they didn't want to pay the $$$ to get it that way and keep it maintained to that standard. I had one of those assholes look at my crew of black workers and say to me "strong backs, weak minds". I was infuriated and ended up dropping the asshole. He found out after I didn't return for several weeks, called me and I said "yea, I cancelled you"

My point is, sometimes you grow up and toughen up. Does he think it is easy for the struggling poor student at GT who is waiting tables and getting abused nightly by entitled asshole customers? Hell, life can be rough. Handle it. Does he think it is better somewhere else? Try losing fumbles with UGAg's asshole fanbase and see how you are treated. They may put a billboard up calling you out.

Toughen up, buttercup. We've all been there.

I picked pepperonis off a pepperoni pizza and threw it down a uga fans' shirt behind his back a few years back in the student section while sitting with cyp. His Tech girlfriend got mad and called me an animal. I told her to go öööö herself and he got up to protect her honor or whatever. I got up to his face and his girlfriend pulled him back so he wouldn't get his ass kicked. She pulled him out of there and they went somewhere else while i threw the last pepperoni off the pizza at him. Not my finest moment. That was a lot of good pepperoni wasted.

How far can you throw "stuff"?

If they can't handle the criticism of overly analytical tech fans, they'd never handle the imbecile fans of other "universities".
