How in the eff do we get sent to Birmingham? I view this as the worst ACC Bowl tie in and we were far from the worst bowl eligible team in the conference.

Who cares. All that matters is we win and our fans show up. The Gasparilla was fun because we showed up and took care of business. Going elsewhere with 10,000 fans won’t excite anyone even if it’s a higher tier. All bowl games are worthless so might as get one close for fans.
 
Kelly Quinlan posting on Rivals a couple minutes ago that a few inside sources believe we’ll get Birmingham vs Arky
 
Miami should get Gator or Pop Tarts.

Louisville sounds like they are in Sun.

GT, Syracuse and Duke should be in the Gator/Pop Tarts, Holiday, and Duke’s.

I would think the players would care. This team will show up regardless of location and opponent, but a bus trip to Bham is hardly a reward for this season.

Process of elimination based on the locations of the ACC teams and bowl games. Duke’s Mayo Bowl is always going to be a NC team 1, Clemson otherwise.

Playing an sec team in Birmingham is better than an AAC team or Wazzou in the Holiday Bowl.

Gator Bowl is the only real outlier, and Syracuse deserves that spot.

Holiday Bowl is a better bowl then B'ham any day of the week twice on Sunday no matter who the opponent. IMHO. and DUKE MAYO BOWL is better than the BHAM... if GT falls past Gator/Mayo/Sun/Holiday bowl with two teams in CFP, something is screwed up as Bham is a secondary Bowl option for the ACC.

A few years ago we didn't have the same season as this year.. 2 top 10 wins and UGA 8 OTs... finished tied 4th in ACC and ACC has top two teams in CFP.... so top five bowls Pop, Gator, Sun, Holiday, Mayo... one should slot GT...
 
Blame the ACC’s shit programs, shit recent history, and shit bowl tie-ins. Not GT’s fault. I’m sure they are pitching us hard and working all the angles possible.
 
Gator, Sun, Holiday, PopTart, Dukes, Pinstripe are, I suppose, the top-tier ACC Bowl games.

Miami, Syracuse, Louisville will slot above Tech, understandably so. Duke will as well, like it or not it is what it is. If these teams took Gator, Sun, Holiday, and Dukes, then what’s keeping us from PopTart? Pittsburgh?
