This is about 10 years old, but explains why the Pinstripe Bowl Payout is 4.4M today. As most people don’t realize the huge amount of expense there is to a bowl game. Taking the band, cheerleaders, administrators, paying bonuses to coaches, and the commitment to buy unsold tickets.

I think because of the distance and maybe the idea floating around of a possible matchup with Auburn a few hours away from ATL.

I'm not complaining - I can actually make the short trip up for that one - that's an awesome trip for me. But the mere mention of Auburn in Charlotte does kind of overshadow a game in NYC.

I get the ease of travel argument and cold weather bowl destinations aren't ideal, but I'd be a little miffed if 2-6 in conference Syracuse got a "better" bowl than us.

I had the thought that, any bowl, would be a good bowl, but not after finishing fourth in the conference.
