Butch Davis is classless

He wanted to get his recently healthy QB some good reps after the game was out of reach. He was not throwing hail mary's he was just getting the guy back into the offense a little without the pressure... Nothing wrong with that...
 
I didn't read through all the replys as I just got my new computer minutes ago.

I will say this. I watched the handshake at midfield and You can bet your ass that CPJ will not forget what Bitch Davis did.

Bingo...I saw that and it looked like CPJ barely shook his hand and did so as he was turned and already walking away. Didn't look like he said a word.

He said earlier this week that Yates hadn't even been cleared for full-contact drills. That was Thursday, I believe. I guess a lot can change in 2 days...
 
I seem to remember people loved it when florida was doing the same to thuga.....its not up to butch davis or his staff to tell his players to lay down.....its goes both ways......
 
If Davis is classless, he would only need to add arrogant to have being a Tarheel down pat.

At church today:

Me to UNC Fan and season ticket holder with a grin on his face and hoarse from yelling: "Congratulations, you guys got us good yesterday."
Him: "Yeah. I thought we wasted a lot of chances. The game should not have been that close."
Me: "Well, you should be in the driver's seat from here on out. You just need someone to beat Va Tech."
Him: "I don't know. We weren't too worried about you guys, with our defense as strong as it is I didn't think your offense would score more than 10 against us. But, I really worry about State and Duke. They are both playing well and could trip us up."

I would have let him have it, but I'm the preacher.

Living up here since '77, that pretty much sums up why I cheer for the "Big 4" to lose every game. It's why I cheered for Dominique and the Dawgs to beat the Heels in basketball, though in football, I'd have to hold my nose and cheer for UNC. That is why I would rather see the Hokies play for the ACC title than the Heels any day.

Heel fans have to be the dumbest football fans, bar none. They have a pretty darn good team this year, but they don't recognize when a team flat gives them a game.

FWIW, i don't have any problem with what Davis did. He made his decisions for whatever reason he did and I really don't see much difference in that and what we did against Duke when we threw to the end zone at the end. Yeah, it was stupid of him to have Nicks still in the game, but stuff normally comes full circle. The way I look at it, is that PJ has carte blanche against them in the future to run whatever he wants no matter the time remaining or the score.

Only losers get to call other coaches classless for trying to score points when the game isn't over.
 
When we beat Miss State did we run up the score? When we threw it into the end zone against Duke were we trying to run up the score? When Florida crucified UGag were they running up the score?

I guess that maybe we will just have to agree to disagree. I believe that it is our D's job to stop them from scoring and if we can't then it is our O's job to score. I am not going to blame our lack of performance on the opposing team or their coach.
 
My point is too just run the ball, if you don't get a first then kick the FG but don't throw to the endzone up by 21. I didn't realize we did that too Duke either.

On 4th and 1 at the opposing 30, it might have been easier to do a play action pass than run up the middle.


Again, I don't see a problem with this. The game wasn't decided yet. Tech could have conceivably come back to win if we got the stop on 4th down.
