If we aren't playing, the game is useless by definition

The fix is in

Are you forgetting the ACC filed in Charlotte before FSU filed in Tally?

The reality is, FSU is gone. They were gone before the 2033 season even started. Do some of you forget they already had a meeting to start the exit process from the ACC?

The CFP committees decision had nothing to do with this. They would have filed whether they made the CFP or not. Now its just a matter of when and at what cost at this point before they are officially no longer a part of the ACC.

Real question is…..When does Clemson go on the clock?

We need their money long enough to get back on our feet. Unless that is the big ten would take us right now

FSU can go, but they can pay up. It isn't we desperately want them to stay. We want them to pay.

And Clemson can try too. We will take their money as well
If the conference dissolves we’ll see what happens to all the exit $$$. That will be the interesting thing. The ACC ended the Big East, and now the ACC seems to be on life support. What an odd world CFB has turned college athletics into.

Splitting nearly a billion dollars will help. Thanks FSU and Clemson.

So 9 more years?

I’ve reflexively defended FSU for the past 30+ years. Partly out of conference loyalty, partly out of grudging respect for Bowden. I’m done with that. Hope they leave, don’t care where they land. ACC membership has been good for their athletic program. But I’m of the don’t let the door hit you on the way out mindset now. Have to wonder if Clemson is taking notes right now.

I think Clemson is in a worse spot than FSU. SEC doesn’t need either and South Carolina is a small TV market so the BIG doesn’t care.
Also, Clemson is a smaller school.

FSU would bring Florida market to BIG but there are cons.

Also, FSU is likely to not like being the only southern school in the BIG. More positives for other BIG teams than for FSU.

If FSU ends up in Big12, then that is hilarious

A coup for the BIG10, IMO, would be GT, Miami, UNC.

Major market with BIG10 fans, footprint in Georgia
Major market with BIG10 fans, footprint in Florida
Medium market that shuts the SEC out of North Carolina. Go ahead, SEC, take NC State, the South Carolina of North Carolina.

Need one more to make a pod- FSU, Duke or UVA/VT?

Wait. So you think Oregon or Washington is more attractive to the B1G over Clemson? Nike $$$ or not for Oregon, the answer is no. Washington may have the Seattle TV market, but it’s the west coast. Clemson pulls in fans from Atlanta to Greenville to Charlotte, etc.

Clemson has been one of the most dominant programs over the last 13 years which includes 6 CFP appearance, 4 CFP MNC game appearances and 2 CFP MNC wins.

Facilities + attendance + TV ratings make Clemson the #1A or #1B pick for either the B1G or sec.

Some of you are only kidding yourselves by devaluing FSU, Clemson as it relates to CFP expansion. They are over any other ACC school for both the B1G or sec. This isn’t about academic prestige, it’s 100% about football.

Well, we will see then, won't we? Oregon is already in the BIG10, so they obviously have already made the leap to big boy football conference.

The SEC and BIG10 can leave Clemson and FSU out to wilt, if they so desire, after the ACC breaks up. They can go join the ACC west, AKA, BIG12, and be in exactly the same predicament they are in now, compared to SEC and BIG10 schools

Hell, Maryland and Rutgers are gonna make more money than Clemson.

It would be easy to see the Big Ten taking FSU and Clemson if they believe they need more national brand names. After Mich, Ohio State and Penn State, it drops off of late. Oregon adds but USC, UCLA have been down for a while now.

If the Ten go for market share, AAU schools like they said they wanted years ago, then certainly UNC, GT and Miami would seem likely.

What I can’t figure is how Duke plays in all this. I think UNC may be taken before GT and if so we will be left out. UNC will push for Duke or UVA ahead of us.

We also have another problem in that we told them no once. Most people don’t go back after being turned down.

We have five years to change our football image. We might get lucky but there is a lot in our way.

Assuming we don’t get invited, I’d like to see us create a national conference of Stanford, Cal, ND, GT, Duke etc.

I thinking worrying about this is a waste of time however.
