CFP is now as big of a joke as the BCS was

Its clear that the committee is going to avoid taking a 2 loss team if a credible 1 loss team is available. Auburn would have been an exception because they would have beaten Bama head to head.

I don't like the idea of 2 loss national champs, either.

So losses mean more than who earned it on the field?

That's laughable. They played Auburn, LSU, Mississippi teams, etc. Nowhere near as tough as our schedule but it is no where near an FCS schedule.

This is why subjective ‘eye test’ and ‘game control’ is a garbage point the committee has injected. No way OSU gets in over PSU last year or Bama over OSU this yes if you’re using a blind test. In this case, most cream their pants over Bama and Saban for the way they’ve dominated college football for 10 years. For what they did on the field and against whom, I don’t see. But I’m not surprised.

I guess I’ll throw this out there here. I think, unsurpingly, ESPN really did an injustice to the game the way they covered this over the past 16 to 24 hours.

It was barely 0:00 on the conference championship games scoreboards before they had Saban on SC politicking his way into it. Ya, I don’t think he’s evil. He did right by his team. The optics were terrible, though.

Today, as soon as the graphic for Bama came across at #4, Kirk Herbstreit walked off set on a live TV. While I don’t necessarily see him as a homer and I know that it’s out there about him, that again had really really bad optics. He played it off but it was definitely an - uhhh, that’s not good - moment.

Im not outraged because öööö Urban Meyer. They got in at the expense of Penn State last year when they didnt win their conference. And any other year id be bitching about two SEC teams but I'd rather have Saban in there as good measure to put the mutts back in their place.

It's all a big ööööing JOKE!!!!!

Honestly I don’t care if they four sec teams made it as long as uga is done away with. I cannot imagine a world with those shitheads at the top.

What the committee is basically saying is championships dont matter. Rather, the championship game is just an extra opportunity to play a quality opponent but the fact that you are conference champion is meaningless. I remember the original vision of the committee was they wanted an emphasis on championships but they seemed to have gone strictly to eye test now, of which that is the only justification for taking Bammer over tOSU.

If the premise is to take the conference champion why not SoCal? They had the same record as Ohio State and were conference champs.
