Nice!
Looks like some dude is stealing your wallet

I would never buy a luxury car. Cars get you from point A to point B and carry whatever you need to transport between locations. If a car can do that for you 99.999% of the time, then it's met my criteria. Get the cheapest one that accomplishes those goals and spend the money on more enjoyable pursuits.

This.

If a more expensive car does not add any additional functionality and it's price tag is high merely by the name of the car or just that it's "nicer," then I don't understand spending more money for "enjoyable pursuits." Sports cars can make sense if you like to go fast and go to the mountains to drive and öööö. For most expensive cars though, you can buy something cheaper and still get the same results.

Did you do the restoration? Drive it much?

So my grandfather bought it already restored while I was in school. He was at the Cracker Barrel in McDonough on his way home from a Tech game and told some Tech fans at the table next to him that he’d love to find one of them and buy it. They knew where one was for sale in Jonesboro I think and he went and bought it. A Tech grad has restored it and when he died his family sold it.

I have driven it enough to scare me. I am planning to re-calibrate the brakes and I think it needs a new head gasket so that too.

It’s probably time for a refresh on the restore too. It could use new paint and upholstery. I want to put white pinhole leather in it like the real thing.

if you want to stop enjoying fishing, start guiding.
I enjoyed it when I was doing it as a side gig. Competition fishing, otoh, was not my favorite. Chasing $50k checks where you sink $8k in costs for something that's purely luck because the ten other boats are just as good as your team and sometimes a sailfish meanders away from the rip a few hundred yards either way just seems like the definition of insanity.

My dad is an expert on these. If you have any questions and dont have a local Model A expert to ask then let me know and I will give you his number.

Can I get his number too? I want to see if he will stop your mom from calling me all the time.

Seems like one secret would be to only do it when you were going to go out anyway.
