Leadership. Collins might make a good scoutmaster or youth league coach. His approach to HCing college football was nothing short of bizarre.
Speaking from a lifelong involvement in Scouting ,Collins WOULD NOT make a good Scoutmaster.

Should’ve run the TO. It worked to perfection against UCF in the red zone.I agree and was yelling at the TV at the time that we should kick it. The 3rd down QB sneak and 4th down fade pattern were pretty awful calls / were poorly executed.
The difference with Coach Key is that those decisions will be examined this week and we will take a different approach the next time a similar situation comes up.Should’ve run the TO. It worked to perfection against UCF in the red zone.

Actually, I would’ve run Hall on 3rd & 4th. Dude had his mind rite. And told Sims to block unless he wants to walk home.
Exactly. Key said as much in his post game remarks. Said maybe it wasn't the right call but they would evaluate and learn. SO refreshing to hear a HC who holds himself accountable! The difference with Coach Key is that those decisions will be examined this week and we will take a different approach the next time a similar situation comes up.
It actually did, other than the read. The play was there. QB should have pulled the ball since the BB had eliminated the defender. We had a man advantage outside.Should’ve run the TO. It worked to perfection against UCF in the red zone.

Here’s a thought. Maybe CGC did a little consulting work for Pitt last week, and that is why Pitt played as well as they did while we kicked their behinds.Pitt dropped a lot of balls and committed a lot of penalties. Let's be excited, but hold off on drawing major conclusions (a la turning the corner after UNC last year)
We did have Pitt lining up for a field goal the few Pitt fans there booed and they called a timeout. After the timeout Pitt goes for it on fourth down and didn’t make it. It was right out of the Collins playbook. Here’s a thought. Maybe CGC did a little consulting work for Pitt last week, and that is why Pitt played as well as they did while we kicked their behinds.
Only responsible for 13 points today. The change by the defense is amazing.

Yeah, it will come out in bits and pieces, but we clearly weren't practicing effectively and were chaotic on the sideline which led players to play confused. A little bit of structure and it's a night and day difference. How can one man be the source of so much systemic dysfunction? The biggest role of a HC is to hire the right staff, after all. But IIWII... the results are there for all to see and I'm stunned.
I think Key told us the answer when he said they started practicing in full pads with full contact.
I have been ruthless in my criticism of Andrew Thacker for the last 2.5 years. The season is still young, but come December I may owe him an apology.
Pretty sure this post is incorrect. We still only win three or four games.
