CPJ Mad Bro

In the 2008 Peach Bowl we were down 35-3 at the half. Even CPJ throws at that point.

That game was extremely high on the suckage meter. Went there with high expectations off a win over UGa against an average LSU team. Got smoked from the get go.

I’m going with the JT5 era. Lil Joe and JT5 are the only GT QBs with multiple wins over the mutts in my lifetime. And I am old a öööö.

You're not really old if you can't add John Dewberry to that list. I can at least throw Billy Lotheridge on the stack too.

I don't understand why the CPJ haters even want to talk about UGA when neither of the coaches before or after CPJ have a single win against UGA; but combined they have the 2 worst losses in the 100+ year history of the series. :dunno:

We won in 1998, 21-19, on a last second field goal. Maybe you meant 1997, in which we were royally ööööed by a bs pass interference call. Try picking another year.

I think I meant 1996 when we got beat by Donnan in his first year. UGA had a losing record that year even with the win over us.

That LSU team had Brandon LeFell, Patrick Peterson, Ricky Jean-Francois, Tyson Jackson, Keiland Williams ... and Charles Scott was the one who ran all over us.
They had talent.
They just had Les Miles as coach.

1. Name me a worse UGA loss than 2009.

2. Name me a worse UGA team we’ve lost to than 2010.

3. Name me a bigger choke against uga than 2013.

1. There isn't one. This is the worst loss of the PJ Era IMO
2. 2015 Those were dismal dwags. 2009 were pretty bad - so bad they fired their DC after he shut down the mighty TO....
3. There isn't one. This is a top-3 loss of the PJ Era IMO.

Name me a UGA win better than 2008. Go back as far as you want.

1998 was great for the same reason 2008 was - it had been awhile.
1999 & 2014 were similarly awesome - Both capped great seasons & had far better endings than 2008.

1999: 51-48? O'Leary's 3rd down TO to get another FG attempt? JoeHam rolling up the mutts all day?

2014: Butker with no time left? Laskey destroying the mutts all day? The Pick to end it?
Not that there was ANYTHING wrong with how 2008 ended....but compared to the end of '99 and '14? Nope.

2000 was cathartic. Who can forget Godsey holding up the 3IAR salute? It will be a LONG time before we win 3IAR again. Gotta get O'Leary credit for that.

2008 was a great win and definitely against the best uga team we've beaten in decades. But I'd put 98,99, and 14 right beside it in terms of Greatness and all 3 with better endings. Though '90 was pretty damn good too, there was no real suspense to it - just a 3 hour ass whipping - something PJ's teams never did.

Someone else already said it but man, had PJ not choked against the mutts sooo badly (2009, 2010, 2013, 2015), he'd be a Mutt Killer. Instead, we never blew out any of those awful Richt-era teams and lost at least 3x that we should've won.

Ok, I got Billy Lotheridge too. I don’t know much about GT prior to going to college (other than Dodd of course).

Did you know that Tech had a long-time coach who was an inaugural member of the CFB HOF? And he wasn't named Heisman or Dodd.

I couldn’t tell you anything about the CFN HOF. But prior to attending Tech, I wouldn’t have associated anyone other than Dodd with Tech.

This was one of the most important games in GT history IMO. Very bad that we lost.

Yeah, 2009 and 2010 were huge misses (2010 would have ended their bowl streak).

Honestly, the closeness of the losses and the wins showed how much the gap had closed 2008-2016. The only exception being 2012, which may have be georgie’s best team since 1980.

This is why CPJ falls behind CGO’L. CPJ just couldn’t put back to back wins together.

I do wonder how things would have gone if CPJ had followed O’Leary. The option was just past Nebraska’s peak. CPJ had everyone’s attention in GA.
