CPJ Mad Bro

I think he coached his butt off in 2018 and it amounted to 7 wins and a total embarrasment in Detroit. Based on the recruiting trend and rule changes, 7 wins was probably going to be his ceiling moving forward. He saw that and that's why he didn't stick around another year or 2, IMO.
Yes, the Detroit thing was a fiasco. I blame the AD for the fact that we were in Detroit. We had an equal record to a couple of ACC teams that we beat and they received much more appealing bowls than we did. AD didn't seem to fight for us in that regard.

Never saw his dad posting eh?
Did you forget what the premise of the discussion was even about? I think you forgot what we were talking about. Go back and catch it a second time.

Will Bryan's career path had nothing to do with weight. The same off-season he gained weight to nearly 300 pounds (!!!!!!!!!!!) he started in 11 of 13 games. :lol2:

give me 10 corners in Tech history better than Butler and JWD.

give me 10 safeties better than Burnett or Taylor.

Serious question, can you remember when O'leary was head coach? I am just curious how long you have folllowed GT football.

Marvious Hester
Jeremy Muyres
Chris Young
Dawan Landry
Chris Reis
James Butler

And I only started from my Tech fandom.

Blaming the AD for an butt kicking is a new low.

A big factor in bowls is who wants to be there more. I hoped that the team would want to win one more for their coach, but it didn’t work out that way. We went through the motions and got our butts kicked by a team that was more excited to be there.

I don’t know if the AD really has any sway over bowl selections, but it’s certainly been a trend for us to fall lower than our on-field performance would indicate.

And you prove my point. His dad posted about some of his issues well as criticizing our S&C and the way we managed weights in the program.

And we won 7 games....what a great coach! No Football Talent (your term) and still won 7 games. The current staff took that same, no Football Talent and hasn't won 7 games in two years.
You do realize that not every schedule is created equally, right? That team that won 7 games only beat 2 FBS teams with winning records. 7-6 Miami and 8-5 Virginia and the score in those two games was less than a TD difference, so those easily could've gone the other way too. UNC was 2-9 that year, Louisville was 2-9, Bowling Green was 3-9, VT was 6-7, and wooo we beat Alcorn State.

I am a big fan of CPJ, but the 09 team wasn’t balanced. How many games did we go without forcing a punt? By the end of the season we were just plain bad on defense.

2014 wasn't much better. Offense was a machine, defense gave up the most pass yards in Orange Bowl history.

You realize if we had lost Miami would have been 8-5, Virginia 9-4, and VT 7-6. That still would have made us a 4 win team.

It was a bend, don't break Ted Roof defense that benefited from a lot of turnovers. Can't count on the ball always bouncing your way, but that year it did.

Problem with reading comprehension? Did not blame the loss on the AD. Blamed the fact that we got screwed on bowl selection on the AD. Read it. It's not that hard.

And yet with this no Football Talent we cannot beat the Citadel. Not sure what your argument is but we just disagree.

Was that the year we got something like 5 turnovers in the first 5 minutes against Pitt and the game was over before most people got to their seats?

Correct. We had no football talent when we lost to Citadel. No QB. Terrible OL.

2008 talent with Collins coaching crushes Citadel

My roommate went to Pitt and was there. I make sure to remind him of this game all of the time.
