He also only won 3 games one season with this talent. Stop cherry picking. And again, my point is CPJ won 7 games with this No Football Talent.

Good for you. What are you after here? Did you want Collins fired after year 1?And again, my point is CPJ won 7 games with this No Football Talent.
Do we need to re-visit those 7 powerhouses we beat that year? Again, only 2 of those had winning records, one barely over .500. The rest sucked worse than we have the past 2 years. And again, my point is CPJ won 7 games with this No Football Talent.
He timed it so he had a full senior class his last year, and left next year with nothing. So he won 7 games with a totally different team than what he left behind. How many seniors did he have? How many juniors did not return? And again, my point is CPJ won 7 games with this No Football Talent.
No. I want Collins to be successful. I do not understand why everyone cannot be in the GT camp and not divided with loyalties for one coach or another. I liked CPJ. Saw him do things at Tech I never thought I'd see again. Doesn't mean that I want Collins to fail. With that said, I'm afraid we've hired a coach in training. His recruiting has been good but not what I expected from all that I read upon his hire. I do not believe that he is a good game day football coach. I get frustrated watching the same fundamental mistakes with clock management, too many men on the field, lack of discipline causing penalties, etc. but that doesn't mean that I want him to fail. I said it early on and still believe it to be true that Collins will certainly recruit better than CPJ but will not win as many games. Time will tell and as a Tech fan, I will be happy if I am wrong.Good for you. What are you after here? Did you want Collins fired after year 1?
Morgan Burnett - 770 NFL tackles. Started 112 regular NFL games and 11 postseason games
Swilling - Played the NFL for 1 season
Balkcom - Didn’t play in the NFL from what I can tell
Bostic - He was part of a few NFL teams but not a big enough part for NFL.com to have any stats on him
Burton - Didnt play in the NFL
Im not gonna continue. Burnett is way better than the first 4 players you’ve mentioned. No point in spending time on the rest.
Figured you'd bitch out and not admit to looking like a complete dumbass with that statement.I saw Marvious Toast Hester on the list and realized this was not a serious attempt to discuss.
I agree with all that. But, what were better options? Retread NFL guys that no kid in high school ever heard of? Or coordinators from bigger schools who would be here a year or two and then leave? Collins is absolutely a coach in training. We’ve all seen the the cluster of time management and men running of the field at the snap. This year the focus is on Collins. Even though I don’t think we’ll win more than 5 games, I don’t care about wins and losses. I want to see a team that executes better, makes smart decisions, and doesn’t play dumb. If Collins can show that I think there will be some good days ahead. If we see the same unprepared stuff we saw way too many times last year then I’ll hate it for him. I believe he truly loves GT and is all in on being a coach in his hometown so I’m pulling for him. This year is all about him. And if it doesn’t work out there will always be plenty of retreads we can hire to be a 7-5 team every year.No. I want Collins to be successful. Not before his team completely quit on him in that loser bowl game. Even they were tired of 30 QB keepers per game.Reading how little talent he left confirms that he must have been one of the greatest coaches in the history of the game. He took that talent and won 7 games before his retirement.
And yet conversely, a mutt defense that was so bad that it fired its DC post season just completely shut down PJ's mighty TO in 09. What a joke. The mighty PJ TO was great at churning yards against the cupcakes but didn't fare much better than other offenses against the elite teams we faced, like Iowa, LSU, and Duke.UGA ran down our throat was more run fits than jimmy & joes. They ran inside zone scheme that took advantage of cutback lanes. Back side was out of position
Defense got owned by UNC, Duke, and mighty Southern too.2014 wasn't much better. Offense was a machine, defense gave up the most pass yards in Orange Bowl history.
Why was that? Was there no film on it? Did the DC drop the ball? Did we adjust during the game?UGA ran down our throat was more run fits than jimmy & joes. They ran inside zone scheme that took advantage of cutback lanes. Back side was out of position

I was at that game with my daughter - drove over from DC. It was 28-0 within 6 minutes. If I live to be as old as coit, I'll never see another play like the one where DJ White chased down James Conner from 10 yards behind to punch the ball out to create the first touchback. The most mind boggling 6 minutes of football I have ever seen. Pitt fans were just speechless. Was that the year we got something like 5 turnovers in the first 5 minutes against Pitt and the game was over before most people got to their seats?
Isn't that the game where Sony Michele ran it like 100 times for six yards a pop? I've been to a lot of CoFH games but that's probably the most frustrating. I recall an interview with Richt afterwards where he said when they were game planning, they didn't think Tech could stop a power running game and, as usual, he was right. Not sure really. I just remember expecting the cutback and stopped being aggressive, then boom! Caleb King goes for 75yds

Reminded me of the game we played at Syracuse when O'Leary was HC. Syracuse's HC said something that GT was a soft ACC team so O'Leary ran Joe Burns about 100 straight times and we just beat them to death. Last play of the game, we were on the Syracuse one yard line and we just laid the ball on the ground and walked off the field. I loved O'Leary.
I’ll never understand the hate on a GT coach that brought us some of the best seasons we’ve had over the last 30 years.
GC should be judged on his own merits, not by tearing down PJ.
