CPJ Radio Show

I would definitely be playing the "decimated by injuries" card and hoping for sympathy for the rest of the season

Wow. By this thread you would have thought Johnson wasn't the first coach since Ross to give us an 11 win season. Which he's done twice now. Guys, get over yourself

:bigcry:

What you did in the past doesn't mean you are above legitimate criticism now. What being said about him is unfair?

1. Whether or not the recoever was eligible or not. What we were doing was working.
2. Play calling. What about our offense has ever given you a shadow of a doubt that we could get one yard. Especially on the 1.
3. Paul Johnson's additude. We have always admired the chip on his shoulder and given it as a reason the team plays the way it does.

Bottom line is we have so many young players learning the offense. Just like in 2008. Nothing Ross did in any of the seasons prior to 1990 would have indicated we would be headed for the MNC. But the players bought in.

Quite frankly, our opinion doesn't matter. CPJ doesn't need. Me or you to buy in. But it makes it a whole lot better when the fanbase is supportive of their team. Especially one coming off a historic season.

It was working until it didn't when we needed it. The offense as a whole didn't exactly light it up after the 1st 3 possessions. Continuing to say 'What I called would work if the players would execute it' (or something to that effect) isn't exactly what I want to hear from my $3 million a year HC. Perhaps you are fine with that, if the players can't execute, then as HC find something they can execute and stop using that as an excuse.

I thought we would get it... but the play call to twice go up the middle against a stacked line with a 180 lb QB didn't make much sense.
3. Paul Johnson's additude. We have always admired the chip on his shoulder and given it as a reason the team plays the way it does.
I don't think we've ever admired it when we've been losing. It was great in 08, 09, and 14. It wasn't so great from 10-13 when we were stumbling our way through 4 years of ~.500 record mediocrity.

I don't think pointing out these things are unreasonable criticisms.

"They love you every week, as long you win."

All I'm sayin is let's save the doom and gloom till the end of the season. Let the man coach his team.

At least he hasn't gone after SEBee about working at McDonalds like he did to that guy when he was at Navy.

You're right. Corndog talking öööö about CPJ on Stingtalk is a big impediment to him coaching the team. Had I known this before we lost three in a row, I would have made sure to have him silenced in September.

I would like to see a 'heavy' formation down near the goal line with an extra lineman. We have run similar stuff in the past (with an eligible lineman).

"I don't mean to be a butthole but....." --CPJ
I don't even know what he said after that, I was laughing so hard! Any body know?

Care to elaborate for people not able to listen? Or are we just going to wait on texstinger to show up and say he should be game planning and not wasting time on stupid radio show callers?

Well, I do believe he has more important things to do than "wasting" time on callers, but probably in the contract somewhere.

But you, please just keep waiting because you will never get a clue even if it was wrapped up in an enema going into your lower regions.

Seriously, did he mention anything about the D or punting game?

You are a great GT fan.

I'm not even talking öööö about him. I'm just saying some stuff that is true. I'm not going out of the way to take extra shots at him... but the 'if they hold the blocks/execute' things will work excuse is weak. We all know it is true, but the head coach using it to deflect criticism is pretty lame. Dial up a little more coach speak and take some of the heat off the players i.e.'I have to prepare these guys better and get plays called that they can execute effectively.' I was chatting about this with a few USNA grads tonight and this was pretty much the one criticism they had about him.

tldr; IIWII

It would be good for me if GT fired CPJ. I could save money on tickets I haven't used in quite a while.
