His personality leaves a little to be desired, but he has at least earned a right to be cocky. I like the suggestion of Dan Mullen about as good as any name that isn't Monken.

Could we hire Mullen as coach and reassign Collins to be the "get back" guy? Could we afford the buy out on our current "get back" guy? If not, we could make our current "get back" guy our new AD.

Mullen had a losing record in a weak SEC east with built in recruiting advantages and larger AA budgets. For every coach that washes out of a big school that goes on to success, I can think of 10 that proved, once they get fired from a big school, they're done (i.e. Les Miles, Kevin Sumlin, Rich Rod, Will Muschamp).

We’re officially in the silly, delusional season if we think Mullen would remotely be a good fit at GT. He bombed at Florida. What on God’s green earth would make someone think he would succeed at Tech is beyond me.

He's never going to need to stop it again, at least not at the p5 level.

I think others remember Mullen's career much differently than I do. He took a garbage Mississippi State program and turned them into a good team year after year, then had immediate success at UF before having one bad year and being canned. He clearly has personality defects, but his resume is impressive.

He's also the last coach to beat the dwags in the regular season.
