Dear God no…

Never underestimate the ability of Tech administrators to F things up. Just when you think things couldn't get any worse, they somehow find a way. O'Brien is horrible. This isn't Penn State or Alabama where kids naturally wake up and want to go there. His "crusty" personality will convince recruits to go elsewhere. Like alot of morons like Jimbo Fisher, they call plays as a hobby rather than turn things over to someone competent. This would and absolute disaster. But hey, we hired Collins so why not double down on stupid?

I have to agree as well, BOB is not a hire I’d get excited about. I’m locked in on Chadwell, Key, Freeze. That being said, I wanted to hire Satterfield four years ago, who’s is 25-23 (15–18) in his four years at Louisville, so what do I know.
Freeze? Come on man. That's not even remotely realistic.

Totally believable that O'Brien would be the hire. Better than Key, I guess. :dunno:

Fans will probably be down on the hire, then there will be acceptance, rationalizing, and a boom of optimism as the introductory press conference happens. Annoyed in advance. Hope O'Brien succeeds if he's it :dunno:

This emoticon fits my mood perfectly: :dunno:

I am 100% certain that it is 68% Chadwell, 58% Key, 100% Chadwell and Key, and 0% BoB.

A Bill O’Brien hire would be the worst possible scenario. Absolutely letting what little air is left in the program completely out. I’d take Key 8 times a week and twice on Sunday. That guy won’t win more than five or six games a year.

I’m not a Key first man by any means. But if we hire a Bill O ööööin Brian before the man who made our team respectable in the face of a drunken Waffle House All Star Special I will lose all the öööö. You can dildo your own asshole before I sign off on that öööö.
Try to keep your gay fantasies out of this discussion sir

Anyone else remember when Gailey was hired and BOB was brought in as the OC? We were excited and optimistic that he would continue Friegen’s offense because he was one of Fridge’s assistants. But no, it was literally the most boring and predictable offense imaginable, 21 points per game, his QB situation was really bad. To be fair I am not sure how much of that was Gailey’s influence, in 2001 he averaged 31 points as O’leary’s OC but also had a The Goose as QB.

I remember distinctly. He was not good. And hiring him would fail to sell tickets and donations we desperately need.

BoB wasn't so bad as a QB coach given Bryce Young's Heisman and Tom Brady's 2009 to 2012 pro bowl,
but failed as an OC losing last year's natty and the 2012 superbowl.
he only won the weak AFC south 4 times in 7 years
crappy WR coach too as losers like Wesley Walker and Rob Gronkowski barely won division championships from 2009 to 2011.

BOB following clown will be a huge error in judgment.

I can see Batt thinking he has major donors, some who want Chadwell, some who are pushing Key, thinking this is some sort of “compromise” hire to keep everyone from thinking they didn’t get what they want.

I would rather JBatt step up and do what he thinks is right & stand up to those that disagree.
This! Then the Tech fans that didn't get their way can, just disappear please!!

Plus being hired by Belichick and Saban, it's obvious this guy totally sucks.

I do not really want him either, but I don't think there's much to be learned from his performance in the AFC South, with respect to how he might do in the ACC Coastal. If we are looking at what he did in Happy Valley, then BOB was the right hire 4 years ago, not today. But he didn't want the job then, I don't know why we should want him now. Moreover, I don't know that he'd be any better or different from Key except that he'd cost more.

Key's 0-11 record as OC at UCF is way more impressive than O'briens as OC in last years NC game year or Patriots 2012 superbowl year.
