Dear God no…

Key's 0-11 record as OC at UCF is way more impressive than O'briens as OC in last years NC game year or Patriots 2012 superbowl year.

Indeed, Alabama and the New England Patriots are such tough places to be successful too, it's really impressive what he could do with scant resources like he may have to work with here.

I for one jumped on the sidelines when I saw the clown show going on. When they finally unloaded the dolt I was looking forward to a rebuild. At least Key showed what some competence would do. Should they hire O'Brien I'll try a few more places to visit on fall Saturdays. He is a Gailey remake and I have no interest in that.

So you’re not a Tech fan. Got it.

Beat me to it.

What really gets me about ST over the last couple months is how folks have their opinion (which is fine of course) but then follow it up with something along the lines of "everyone involved is a moron and not serious if they don't pick ____ and GT will suck forever".

While I don't think he is in the mix, I actually think BOB would bring some discipline and stability to the program. At this point, Gailey style yearly 7 win seasons look pretty damned good.

Worse is “if GT does pick the coach/offensive style I want I’m going to find something else to do”

I get losing interest in the Gef era. But saying you’re going to have a hissy fit and not support the program over any of the guys being discussed, before they even coach a game, is ridiculous.

Absolutely. And the bonus is going all-in on an individual (like...ahem...Coach Prime for example) when we as fans do not know who all were willing to take the job. Some candidates we like will not even be interested. Regardless, I love the Institute and it's not contingent on anything that is discussed on ST. I'll be there and loud.

The clown show damaged the program more so than B*** L**** in my opinion. Tech needs to regain its respectability that was lost over the C****** era. We all know what an important decision J Batt has before him. Despite who any of us want as HFC, let’s hope that our new AD is up to the task and makes the right hire.

With proper use of the portal, and the fact that Tech plays in the ACC (Atlantic/Coastal divisions will be no more starting next year) Tech can get back to “Gailey respectability” in short time. Tech should also get back to being a player in the ACC -finishing in the upper-tier and competing for conference titles.

These are my expectations. I expect no less.

Now, let’s move forward.

I'll still be rooting for Tech even if one of my favorites doesn't get the nod.
I just hope Ma Tech doesn't hire someone because they can get them for half the price we're paying the clown to "not coach"
who would want Hewitt all over again?

One of the BIG reasons BOB was able to get Penn St. going again was hiring Mac McWhorter. Mac has a 100% win record as head coach at GT (2001 Seattle Bowl win over Stanford) and was loved by the players. He took over when GOL left. When Tech did not hire him as the next HC, Mack Brown hired him as OL coach at Texas for 13 years.

This is a fan board right?

I'll always pull for GT. How much time investment depends. Some coaches peak my interest more than others... of course proving me wrong by winning would work too.

I'll take my label how ever you call it.

It's not gonna be BoB or Fritz, neither was ever a serious candidate or even more than just a mention. That's just some of their own people making all the smoke.

I will say this about BoB though. Bama fans are delusional. They have lost 2 games this year which is uncharacteristic of them so they start looking for blame. They may have questioned some of his play calling, but the fact is they scored 49 and 31 points in their 2 losses (by a combined 4 points), and are averaging 40 points per game which is good for 5th nationally. The offense isn't their problem.

Wonder if the OFEI and DFEI person can see if they increased or decreased in this area...

Damnit. Tell us who it is then. PM is fine

I’m fine with BOB - so long as it’s not the result of donor pressure. These are the same guys that insisted we go get Stansbury.
