Did Bbbuzzzooooffff call it quits...

booing when you COLLEGE team in on the field is WRONG no matter the reason. this is not a pro sport, these are kids playing for free and you have no "right" to be an asshole to them or the other fans that chose to go to COLLEGE events rather than hang out at the pro sports where booing and whining and idiotic fan behavior is tolerated

secondly, GOLeavy did not have us in the Top25 every year, also he would have lost half his team to academics with his policies (oh, we kinda did lost about 12)

thirdly, it is FACT that Gailey has the best 3yr record for a new FB coach in GT history, that is NOT disputable

fourth, if the fans had half the class that Gailey had as a human being, you probably would not be here. he tried, and despite whay you think the man OBVIOUSLY is a good COACH which is why he is back in the NFL where they want GOOD COACHES, not temper tantrum throwers and whiners

fifth, we were in the ACC Championship game, do you remember? when had we done that before. obviously never, since its new. to say that is not a "new height" for GT FB is also wrong. first time in the ACC Championship game, Chan Gailey was coach.

the last recruiting class Gailey had was one of the best at Tech EVER, but yeah, he wasnt getting it done

lastly, if you compare today's ACC with the one that GOLeavy coached in, guess what? its WAAAY different

i am fine that people didnt like Gailey. i am fine that he was replaced. but to lie about his accomplishments and put him down with patently untrue statements is what a high school girl would do, does that describe you?

Chan did NOT elevate this program from the previous coaching staff - not one bit! They had this program in the Top 25 at years end - and Tech was where with Chan?

Booing came from all fans - I doubt BuzzOff posters needed to boo - they pretty much have had plenty to say over the 6 season of disaster up front and with intense feeling.

Those booing were the fans who came on these boards and said great things but let it all out at the games - I think you call folks like that hippocrits!:laugher:

I feel sorry for fans that feel it necessary to hide there feelings because of some undying pledge to 'not rock the boat' - what crap!:ugh:

The only reason the NERD BOARD wasnt flooded with anti-GAILEY comments was because of the Puss running the board.

This pretty much sums it up, good post YB's. I supported CG for 3.5 years and it went down hill pretty fast after that. I was completely fooled.

Coming from the NFL I saw what he was trying to do but I don't think even while I played I saw a bigger ego once I opened my eyes.

As far as the other board, there are a couple good fans and then the bad ones and then the ones (not all) that travel to both or all 3 and are down right hypocrites. Saying something here and then going to the other board and spouting off something else, playing to all three boards. Hopefully people realize who these people are and take them with a grain of salt.

You can believe what you want, but I certainly had posts pulled over there when the moderator (if you can call him that) disagreed with me, and I was recently banned from that board with no explanation for posting on Stingtalk that the mod deleted my posts in the past.

The guy says one thing but acts another, plain and simple. This board actually seems to be the best place if you have an opinion.
 
Regardless of what you think of buzzoff, it does serve a purpose. IMO, it's like a giant idiot magnet floating around sucking up morons from legitimate discussion boards. Anyone with a sense of decorum who unfortunately happens by realizes very quickly the error of their keystroke and vacates before any stinch can rub off on them. Those who are fond of hating life and themselves who land there find a happy home and leave the rest of us alone.

So I say long live buzzoff, the imbecile vacuum that helps keep our board clean!
 
Two things I don't want to hear another damn thing about are Chan Gailey and BBuzzOFF. Move the hell on.

Best post I've even seen about GTL and his love for Gailey. I'll stand by my assertion about GTL and Gailey! I sat with many of the buzzoff crowd, tail gated with some and to this day I have never heard any of them boo. Yell at Gailey but no vulgarities. Gailey did deserved every boo or vulgarity that was hurled his way that I heard but as I said I never hear it from the BO crowd that I was with. Was it some of the holier than thou crowd?

How does someone on the sidelines distinguish between a boo for a player and a boo for Gailey?

You know I asked that very question of a couple of guys who were booing that were sitting behind me. They said they were booing Gailey. I then asked how do the players know that you are booing Gailey. They didn't answer. But the players knew. Remember when Gailey was booed when the put him on the jumbo? A few players said it hurt them to see the coach get booed, remember, it was reported widely!

Its pretty easy in some cases. If its 4th and 1/3 yard at midfield and booing starts when he sends out the punting team, pretty good bet its for the coach and not the punter.

If its 3rd and 13 and the offense runs the ball up the middle, then you can pretty much assume they're booing the coach.

If its 1st and 10 on the opponents 17 and we run up the middle twice and then the QB draw on third down and the field goal team heads out, yeah....sigh

some kids near me at first thought that the crowd was booing at the "dont drink and drive" announcement, which was the subject of the PSA, so i dont think its necessarily that obvious

i think you can leave the boos at home for college events, which celebrate the spirit of competition and not the scrutinization of every error anyone makes
