Best post I've even seen about GTL and his love for Gailey. I'll stand by my assertion about GTL and Gailey! I sat with many of the buzzoff crowd, tail gated with some and to this day I have never heard any of them boo. Yell at Gailey but no vulgarities. Gailey did deserved every boo or vulgarity that was hurled his way that I heard but as I said I never hear it from the BO crowd that I was with. Was it some of the holier than thou crowd?

Actually, they got very little right about Gailey.

They did get it right that Gailey would never win the ACC or beat UGa, but that's about it. Yeah, and never develop a good QB, too. But....

*Every season they would predict only 2 to 4 wins - wrong.
*Every win was credited to Tenuta, every loss blamed on Gailey - wrong.
*Gailey was a man of low moral character, deceitful and a liar - wrong.
*Gailey couldn't evaluate talent or coach up players, but several classes of 2 star recruits that became All ACC players proved that to be - wrong.
*Gailey was at fault for flunkgate -wrong.
*Gailey was at fault for NCAA probation - wrong.
*Gailey couldn't recruit; the last couple of years prove that to be - wrong.


And, of course, the question will always remain what could Gailey have done if there had not been flunkgate, non-cooperation from the hill, probation and a rash of key injuries, not to mention a hard-core group of so-called supporters and fans working behind the scenes and on the internet to undermine the coach at every turn.

ccg had/has a huge football ego. He would never admit to the team, other coaches or himself that he was stubborn to the point that it hurt our S/As.

If we could play Samford 12 weeks in a row, and come away with a 12 - 0 record, some would proclaim it as the greatest season in GT history.

I think the point of the players feeling personally hurt because of the boos makes it a moot point about whether they know the target of any specific "boos". The bottom line is it is counter-productive if you truly want to support the program and not your personal agenda. (I'm not sorry Gailey is gone, but wish him well.)

The only reason the NERD BOARD wasnt flooded with anti-GAILEY comments was because of the Puss running the board.

There was a hell of a lot more to worry about with the Tech program THAN ANY MODERATOR ON ANY BOARD!

It's fair in that you can say whatever you want without fear of being administratively punished. However, that doesn't mean that if you touch a nerve or two you won't get ripped endlessly by people.

Let's put what BO has said over the years in perspective here. Last I checked, we've won over 2 games per year and we haven't lost to Duke every year. I don't see us moving down to division 2 any time soon either.

BO has been more wrong more often than any other board. They can hardly be considered "right" on Gailey. The number of people they convinced with their juvenile arguments is approximately zero. I highly doubt BeeBad could even give the slightest account of why Gailey was fired, other than "Gailey sucks."

The 2nd grade barely-literate ad hominem attacks on GTL only confirms that sentiment.

secondly, GOLeavy did not have us in the Top25 every year, also he would have lost half his team to academics with his policies (oh, we kinda did lost about 12)

thirdly, it is FACT that Gailey has the best 3yr record for a new FB coach in GT history, that is NOT disputable

fourth, if the fans had half the class that Gailey had as a human being, you probably would not be here. he tried, and despite whay you think the man OBVIOUSLY is a good COACH which is why he is back in the NFL where they want GOOD COACHES, not temper tantrum throwers and whiners

fifth, we were in the ACC Championship game, do you remember? when had we done that before. obviously never, since its new. to say that is not a "new height" for GT FB is also wrong. first time in the ACC Championship game, Chan Gailey was coach.

the last recruiting class Gailey had was one of the best at Tech EVER, but yeah, he wasnt getting it done

lastly, if you compare today's ACC with the one that GOLeavy coached in, guess what? its WAAAY different

i am fine that people didnt like Gailey. i am fine that he was replaced. but to lie about his accomplishments and put him down with patently untrue statements is what a high school girl would do, does that describe you?
