Ding Dong... MBob's gone!

Did he actively get rid of the gold standard or was it just a passive type thing? Cause that'd be one thing that went right under his admin.

So... not a single person is sorry to see go. That's how you know you sucked at your job.

Curry could rally the troops and raise money but not sure I trust his judgment at all times.

What troops?

We need to attract more and new troops.

All he would do is try to glamorize the things Dodd did to damn near kill us to start with.

We need someone who understands winning is the cure.

This. MBob was an empty suit who did nothing to enhance the GT brand.

The only thing that I know he did was hire Pastner after firing Gregory and that hiring process was embarrassingly botched.

Good riddance.

So to the many who believe this, and you may very well be correct, WHO HIRED MBOB?

Where are they now? How have they changed, or have they become more firmly entrenched in their seeming
desire to drive GT athletics out of business, or at the very least dumb down the GT experience by selling that 14-24 vs your biggest rivals and 58% is a sign of success?

The AD is responsible for marketing and operations of all of the athletic programs. So, everything that isn't direct recruiting, practicing, or competing. It's a huge amount of responsibility and influence which is why they get paid close to a million a year.

Branding? AD.
Advertising? AD.
Compliance? AD.
Game day experience? AD.
Conference relationships/votes? AD.
Hiring coaches? AD.

You're right. Even the best AD will be limited by circumstances but a bad one can really screw things up.

Never forget.

But yeah, the AD's have control over a ton of stuff. It's just really hard to figure out if the AD is doing a good job on marketing, fundraising, operations, etc. It's pretty easy to see if the AD gets in NCAA trouble or if there is a terrible hire. I mean, who the hell was the AD at Kansas who thought hiring Charlie Weis was a good idea?

I think the actually game was ND when they called the late hit by Wheeler. Regardless, there was definitely a bottle thrown. Came from row behind me in lower west. Great throw too. Nailed the ref.

I hear ya. Just remember the BC game in 07 having a lot of bottle-throwing as well. 07 vs the dwags had some terrible officiating as well, but not sure if it had as much bottle-throwing.

I hope the new guy has a seat cushion day for the Clemson game
