"Other" boards are talking about it. Apparently he left GT last week? Going through some personal issues or something. Anyone know anything else about it? Not looking for details of his personal situation, but what is the likelihood that it was more than just "personal" reasons that he left? Door seems open for him to return if he likes - what are the chances?

I thought we had dodged the bullet by getting him to stay until spring at least...

I apologize if this was posted and I somehow missed it, but I looked at the last 3 pages of threads and didn't see anything...

Last I remember was this:

Saying "I ain't going nowhere" or whatever. Then on The Hive someone said that Adam Oliver and friends said last night he was gone, in their chat thing. Which, of course, would totally suck. I wish I could hear something more official on it. I was looking forward to seeing him carry the ball on offense some next year, and god knows we need the secondary help.

Last I heard he was staying. Dang I hope this aint true we could really use him.

DJ did indeed leave school. Citing personal reasons, he was ok with his move to safety. The coaches have gone to his home to talk with him and some players have also been talking with him. They want him to return and he can if he wants to, its up to him. I spoke with DJ a few weeks back before he left and he seemed excited about the move to safety, he is having some problems though that he is trying to work out at home. Hopefully he returns soon, if not I hope great success in the future to a great young man that he is.

I didn't release this the other week with the hopes of him returning soon and most people not even ever knowing about it. Since its out there now no putting the kid down for leaving, he is going thru some struggles right now and doesn't need people badmouthing him on the internet. I do know that a few of you that I talked to the other week about this did a good job of keeping it quiet.

I'm just waiting on the "piss on him then" responses that are inevitable. Let him collect hisself during the off-season. Hopefully, by Spring practice he has resolved his issues and can return. If not, I for one will wish him well - as long as he doesn't face us.

Personally, I would rather a kid leave us for another school than have to leave because of problems at home. I hope everything gets worked out and that he gets a college education regardless of where it's at.

Good luck DJ.

Sounds like some more urgent areas than football in his life right now.

Hopefully he can get it all worked out.

It would be great to have him back, but it is more important for his life to be all it should be right now.

Best of luck to the young man.

You're that guy who walks into someone else's tailgate thinking that you will get automatically accepted by the group and you wind up getting your ass kicked instead. You're like the biggest douche bag of the message boards which pretty much makes you the biggest douche bag on the planet.

Some clown tried to put this info up on the Rivals main board for EVERYONE to see. i-d-i-o-t

That's too bad, I hate to hear that abut DJ leaving the team. But in the scheme of life, football is unimportant when there are more presing issues at home. DJ good luck and we're pulling for you, and we all hope to see you back on the field soon.

That sucks. He looked promising. I thought it was going to be him and Burnett lighting it up defensively next year.

I wonder why he never comes back to respond, Coward maybe, little girl maybe? who knows.

Sad to hear he's having problems. I recall having problems at home during school. It makes things very difficult. I decided to stay in school and it cost me. That was my only quarter under 2.0 and my only F grade ever. He probably has made the right choice.

I hope he can get himself back in school. He is a playmaker and has a bright future.

I love the link to a one-liner buried in the depth chart thread, as evidence that I haven't been "keeping up."

OMGWTFBBQ!!1!ELEVENTYONE!! U MUST RED EVRY POST ON STNGTLK IN ORDR 2 POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, if he really is having issues to deal with and went home then bless his heart and come back when you can.

On the other hand, if he's over at USCeast getting an apartment and getting ready to start school over there this summer(do they do quarters?), then, yes wannabee, PISS ON HIM and for God's sake don't give him a release.
If he has personal problems at home, he can't be a hardship eligibility for USCe this year. Thats farther from home than he was here in the ATL.

Why is he looking to play for USC, Purdue, or whoever if he is having problems at home ? That makes no sense.
