That's what makes the most sense to me.Or his personal problems have to do with academics.

This post lacks swagger.Well seems to me if it was school problems then we should of done what was needed to keep him here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well seems to me if it was school problems then we should of done what was needed to keep him here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keeping DJ Donley and the rest of our recruits in school should be first priority NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES!!!!!!!
now we have lost one of our biggest playmakers, great.
First of all DJ Donley appears to be a very good football player...but he's done nothing to be considered one of our biggest playmakers. He simply hasn't played that much. Also, just what does NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES mean? If it's grades, do we give him an A? If it's not liking ATL or the school itself, just what do you expect. No one has suggested on any thread I've seen on any board, that he actually flunked out. What seems to be the picture that's coming out is he simply does not like Tech. Not the football part, but the school itself. So how do you fix that?Well seems to me if it was school problems then we should of done what was needed to keep him here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You must not remember Tony Hollings do you? Players fail out of Tech all the time. SAs get all sorts of help, but at the end of the day no one lets them fail or lets them pass. It's all on them.If Jonathan Dwyer is struggling in classes what are we gonna do? Let him fail? Are you serious?
You're the one who can't be serious? First we don't know that Donley was having trouble in class. But besides that, you actually think we should just give grades to kids no mater whether they go to class? Seems to me you're pulling for the wrong school. Whether you like it or not, we don't do that at Tech.If Jonathan Dwyer is struggling in classes what are we gonna do? Let him fail? Are you serious?
yes pass the kid if its his grades. You people are ignorant to think that Matt Stafford, Jacob Hester, Glenn Dorsey, Percy Harvin, ever even have the slightest chance of not passing. It is neccessary to win.

I think most of you are jealous of student athletes and wish so bad you be one and dont want to see any SA get special treatment until you become a SA.
refrigeratormover did you go to tech?

It's always nice when people who didn't go to Georgia Tech try and tell us about how things are run there...knox i know you're not that naive? i know its Tech and all, but this is Div 1, it happens everywhere, even Tech.

I agree. SA even at GT have tutors its not like they dont have any help to pass classes. That said I dont think he left because of grades or the course work was to hard for him. Not claiming I know why he left but IMO it wasn't because of grades. He may not go here, but he is pretty right. You really have to try to fail out as a student athlete here. Speaking from personal experience, they are often given certain advantages, one way or the other, in addition to the personal tutoring that they get where they basically get brought through step-by-step. Now, if you just blow off class every day and don't show up for tests or do projects, then yeah, you're going to fail. Maybe at other universities SAs can do that, I don't know. But if they put in even a little bit of effort, any SA can easily pass their classes here.
