Dontae Smith - CPJ recruit

It isn’t nonsense. In the past we would lose 10 that were end of the bench guys. This year we’ve lost 8 returning starters to the portal; and many of these guys were the highly touted recruits the staff were using as proof points of their recruiting success.

Our total attrition number from the start of the 2021 season to now is close to 30 when you count transfers, injuries, and other early departures that left eligibility on the table.

End of the bench guys? Lol and how that same metric doesn’t work in this case? This is agenda 101

So what does Jamious, Lockhart, Rankins, Casey, Amerson qualify as? So depth didn’t matter back then but is pertinent now?

Spida Sims
Derrick Allen
Kenyatta Watson

2nd yr guys like Tatum & Edwards will should have big roles this

Watson hasn't even played yet.
Maybe Sims and Allen. And that's a big maybe, since neither has been particularly impressive (of course, that could be a result of the level of coaching they had been receiving). Tatum and Edwards played a little bit, but not much.

I'll go back to something PJ and I talked about 20 something years ago at a spring practice. We're walking across the practice field at Georgia Southern in the middle of a spring practice, and Adrian Peterson was out for spring because of offseason surgery. PJ goes, "s---, I don't want to be here. They don't want to be here. But we got to be out here. It'll be different when he (pointing at AP) gets back out and practices."
I asked why is that?
PJ says, "Because no one works harder than he does. And these other guys don't want to let him down."
AP was already established as a star on that team, and to some extent across the nation.
I'm not going to put much stock in guys who have barely played being leaders this year. Maybe next year after they've played a lot more and have shown some production.

Ok

It obviously did.
You said, "14 4 stars also wouldn't be enough to use all available scholarships over a 5 year span, even if none of them left the program. Self imposed scholarship reductions seems like a bad idea, but might just be me."

Signing 14 high school players doesn't mean not having a full class/roster. The rest would be made up of transfers. There would be no scholarship reductions.

Funny story. I don't doubt it. AP was with the Redskins a couple years ago and its unreal how hard that guy works and plays.

But I will pass this along: Yesterday on Packer and Durham, Wes asked Collins point blank at the end of the interview: "which player should we all focus on O and D?" Collins replied without hesitation: Derrick Allen and Nate McCollum and then went on to elaborate but I thought that was interesting.

Yep, right over your head.

I don't think anybody understands what you are trying to say and it sounds like you don't either, so why don't you explain it to the class.
The intended recipient understood what I said, I don't care if you struggle with it.

Maybe he meant to say no coach in America could do worse? I mean, worse than 3-3-3 wins with losses at home to citadel and northern Illinois, and breaking records for the worst acc loss in history, and most points ever given up in an acc game, and most points allowed to UGA, and largest margin of defeat to UGA/Clemson/VT, and posting the 3 worst shutout losses in school history, and having the statistically worst defense in the country?

That actually would be very hard to do worse than. It’s quite the resume
That's all you got?

Lol the intended recipient? He didn't say anything about your "self-imposed scholarship reduction" that I am referring to. He was referring to the production out of the smaller classes of higher rated guys we've signed that are just now becoming upperclassmen. We had small high school classes. We still signed over 20 each year. It doesn't matter what your argument with him is. I simply pointed out that there is no scholarship reduction like you say.

Yep, still over your head.
