DT Mike Lockhart Gone

I hate to say this but it seems the kids that are leaving for the Portal value another chance w another program just to get away from this dumpster fire, instead of pursuing a prestigious degree, and even worse it's not even NIL related. They just want to get away from CGC and his smoke and mirrors that hide his poor coaching. AND IT SUCKS......

LOL. So much conjecture...AND IT SUCKS

The money has been there all along. The Athletics Board, including TStan, admitted that when the decision was made not to fire Collins. TStan essentially staked his career on keeping Collins, and he will probably end up losing his career as a result of it, unless he changes his mind now.
My source, and granted it was a while back, said they were $3M short - at the time.
If you're right, they found that extra $3M to make it happen. And TStand didn't make it happen.

Nothing would be accomplished firing him now. You can't find a replacement at this stage and even more players would leave. It would be disastrous. You gotta roll with him next year.
Disagree. players will leave with any coaching change, that is inevitable. Replacing him now creates hope that the program will be able to soon move forward. There is no hope among the fanbase at this point, and season ticket sales will reflect that.

Well seeing that the majority of these guys were starters, and nobodies coming in to challenge their spots, then that pretty much shows that it’s not PT. Yates, Peery, and Edmunds were probably PT reasons, but other than that, not too many of these guys had a solid gripe on not playing.
Edmunds? Qu'est que c'est?

Get new sources, this is publically available knowledge and has been for months.

And replace him with who right before spring practice starts? You'd have to elevate someone on staff, most likely Key. So it would just be the same staff, minus Collins. Firing a coach right before spring practice is basically just conceding next year, and that's not going to sell tickets, either. The bed is made. He is getting his one more shot to turn it around. Everyone already knows he's gone if we have another losing season.

Just cause you think the outcome of the idea sucks doesn't mean it's wrong. It's no more conjecture than saying it's because of playing time or any other reason we can speculate on this board.

Well, they were recruited to play for the 404, Waffle House, and BLM. They probably aren't interested in what Georgia Tech University has to offer.

Tell me you don't know the meaning of the word "conjecture" without saying you don't know the meaning of the word.

And FWIW, on other "paid sites", turns out with Lockhart it was due to him not thinking he could make it through the school academically. But hey...go ahead and put forth some more conjecture there, Skippy! Don't let being wrong stop you. It hasn't yet.

Lockhart barely played on a bottom of the barrel ACC defense. I won’t shed a tear. Keep trimming the fat. I personally am glad these guys leave before we spend any of our coach’s bandwidth on them during Spring practice.

Firing Collins before that magical December date when the buyout is reduced would be the most Tech thing ever.

So, I fully expect him to fired in October.

I can't remember his name now, but I chatted some in FB with a member of the board. He was honest about wanting Collins gone, and said we DID have the money to make it happen. But he deferred to TStan and voted to retain Collins another year.

"an opinion or conclusion formed on the basis of incomplete information"
Unless someone here has all the complete information on what is happening inside the program and with the players involved, then how is anything being said here not conjecture to some degree? I don't pay any subscriptions so I prolly have less information than you if you're shelling out the dough for it, but I'm also not personally claiming any of the ideas posted on here are definitely right cause for the most part we just don't know for sure, so we're all speculating.

I can agree that Carson's opinion that started this probably does not have enough evidence to back up the level of his conviction, but there wasn't anything posted here at the time to prove it was wrong either. The player making statements about "program uncertainty" certainly makes the idea seem more likely without other information. If you came back right away with the "Ackchyally the paid sites say in this case it was cause of grades" then the topic prolly never would of reached this point. If you want to prove someone wrong, just throw in the proof instead of 1 line insults.

I could also theorize that you're full of öööö and lying about paid site info to win a point unless someone else backs you up on that. After all, if you knew for sure it was wrong, why wait til now to say so? I'm not disbelieving you, cause it's a plausible enough reason, but tossing out posts that sound just like it isn't going to engender any trust.

Gonna be trimming down to the bone if we aren't careful.

Jamie Chadwell or Jeff Monken (omg nOt ThE oPtIoN!) if you feel you need a name, but the point is we should be actively looking for and interviewing potential replacements. Fire him once spring practice is over if you feel there is some benefit to that. You don't have to elevate anyone on staff, you can fire all of them too. Plenty of people would accept a losing season this fall if we hired a new coach now, that's not unreasonable at all. Half you bozos did that for the current head coach and he got a much better head start on his first season. The point is a new coach brings hope for a change and interest in what the new guy is all about. A new guy can sell his vision like Geef did, and draw in recruits without the baggage of 3 straight 3 win seasons tied to his name. How many recruits do we have chomping at the bit to commit to Geef right now?

These kids aren’t invested in a degree. This coaching regime wasn’t selling education, or looking for players that value it. They were selling a fun culture, coaches that would have their back no matter what, and a player first program. Now the fun is gone, coaches have either bolted or are going to get fired, and their buddies are leaving…so they are following suit. Education hasn’t been part of that narrative for three years, and it isn’t part of it now,
