Duke vs Clemson

I would also add that their strength and conditioning program is paying dividends. Several players have added 10-20lbs of muscle and the comments were that they are just overall bigger now from last year. Speed wise they looked equal to Clemson last night. There was only one jailbreak blitz the Tigers had where they sent 8 and still the Dook QB got the ball out.
So how is it that our players couldn't put on 10-20lbs of muscle. Why is it our defense couldn't tackle? Is Duke talent that much better than Tech's? I thought the staff was installing tough, hard nosed, physical football. Didn't see that against L-ville.

I just don't get it.

I hear you. I think Louisville may be just as good if not better than Clemson. Elko is working magic over there. Hopefully Key will here. Dook also had some good transfers in too. A good barometer will be when we play the Rebs in a few weeks.

Wake isn't much further either.
Forgot about that. UNC used to be run by the Carolina Mafia. Now, they figure they are big time CFB.

I hope their buddies are Duke, NC State, and Wake tell them to öööö off when they leave and try to schedule basketball games.

In my future world, football conferences would have nothing to do with basketball conferences.

I think last night had more to do with Clemson completely choking than Duke being some new type of unstoppable rebel force.
Two fumble turn overs in the Duke red zone and they apparently recruited against us for a FG kicker.

Clemson's QB? 27.9

This was my main concern from Friday night. Our OL and DL were both smaller (and apparently weaker) than Louisville's and got pushed around pretty good. This after 9 months of talking about building toughness. That was my doubletake from the evening. I think the O will be fine, overall, but will have to contend again with an underperforming OL. The front 4 on the DL left me very concerned.

Clemson’s biggest issue on offense is a complete lack of playmakers at WR and TE. This isn’t all on DJ U or now Klubinik. Yes, Boyd, Watson and Lawrence were great QB’s at Clemson, but I don’t see any Higgins, Mike Williams, Hunter Renfroe, Artavis Scott or Justyn Ross type talent out there at WR. The WR’s they have cannot stretch the field vertically and were not getting past the Duke secondary.

Congrats to Mike Elko, guy has already proven himself as a very good HC in just 14 games at Duke.

When you have totally ignored any kind of strength and conditioning for 3 years, you don't start emphasizing it and expect immediate results. HOPEFULLY, that is and will continue to be, a priority and produce stronger players on both sides of the ball, but it's not gonna happen overnight. I know we are ALL tired of waiting, but recovery from cancer (what the clown was) takes time and a LOT of "therapy" and continued (though hopefully decreading) suffering. Not making excuses, because I was PO'd at that loss, but again, you can't play tough, hard-nosed, physical football with weaker players who aren't there yet because of the clown. And NO Tech team for at least the past 20 years has shown any ability to tackle. Why that has never been fixed is beyond me. I HOPE that Thacker and the other defensive coaches will do a better job of addressing it than previous defensive staffs have done.

I really don’t understand what happened to our S&C program. The guy had success elsewhere in the same job.

We've only had one offseason with the new S&C coach, after three plus years of making great motivational social media sizzle reels but putting out a slower and weaker team.

Does anyone else think Dabo woke up this morning and said to himself, did I hire Charles Nelson Reilly to coach this offense?
