Expansion Rumors…

Actually, no. He never said that. Just how many more fans those teams might have if the ESPN bias wasn’t there over the years.
I guarantee you, no one living in Arizona, Colorado, Michigan, California, etc is a fan of Ole Miss, MSU, South Carolina, etc because of ESPN. But that’s fine if some people do.

And the flip side to that is, living in other parts of the country people complained about ACC bias when it comes to hoops due to Vitale, Bilas and ESPN. Do you agree with that during the 90’s through mid 2000’s?

It’s all perception when your league isn’t considered on top. When GT is no longer in the ACC, no one on here will care.

That is all fine. Just so long as the Dallas Cowboys can continue to play in the NFC East. and Indianapolis can continue in the AFC South.

Those are silly too. Maybe the start was having 11 teams in a conference with 10 in a name. They all should be forced to rename, perhaps ultimately we will end up something like...

The Southeastern Arctic Conference (SEAC)

Midwestern Coastal Conference (MWCC)

The Desert Rainforest Conference (DRC)

The Atlantic Rocky Mountain Conference (ARMC)

The Pacific Great Lakes Conference (PGLC)

The Deep South Glacier Conference (DSGC)

The Big 12-and-a-half-but-also-thirty Conference (B12.5B30)

ACC should change to From Sea to Shining Sea Conference (FSSSC)

It was NOT ACC bias.

It was DOOK bias.

Well, you really can’t guarantee that because there really are so many odd people in the world.

The ESPN “ACC hoops bias” was for the league overall, not just Dook. So it sure sounds familiar to what people claim ESPN does for the sec. You can’t have it both ways. Deny it for one, but believe it’s fact for the other.

It’s all personal belief without fact in the end regardless of how people felt about ACC hoops/sec football.

Sure I can. Because it didn't exist for ACC basketball, but it does exist for SEC football. Bilas literally played at Dook. Vitale's knickname is LITERALLY Dookie V. It was Dook bias. ESPN didn't give two öööös about Wake Forest or Georgia Tech.

Live outside of Georgia and the South and maybe just maybe you’ll have a different opinion. ACC basketball in the late 80’s through mid 2000’s was given every hype imaginable by ESPN, etc. That included GT under Bobby. And now the same complaint is said about sec football from ESPN.

FWIW, I lived and worked in SoCal 94-99. Listened to a lot of Walton's "Conference of Champions" schtick for ESPN over the years.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

I’m glad you see I’m correct, finally. ESPN picks favorites and it has an effect on fanbases. (And not just ESPN. Heck, there are Braves and Cubs fans all over the country due to TBS and WGN.)

Ya know. You’re 100% in that one. The days of TBS, WGN and their national broadcasts of the Braves, Cubs and some White Sox games.

The day games, night games watching the Cubs, White Sox and Braves as a kid in the summer.
