Expansion Rumors…

Don't need to bribe. The folks that make these decisions know that they can be handed their hats and shown the door if they go against the SEC and BIG10.
Sure they can be kicked off the playoff committee, but it's not like that's their main job. Do the committee members even get paid to be on it?

You miss the point. Those folks on the committee are enjoying power. Without the committee assignment, they are nothing.

So, what's the leverage the SEC/B1G are holding to win these types of votes? That they will hold their own playoff? I don't get why that's worse than letting them dictate the changes we're seeing. It seems like they'd be equally hurt if the other conferences refuse to schedule them and they have to their schedule with the other conference or with FCS teams. Where's the backbone from the "lesser" conferences?
Things are rigged in the present system in favor of SEC and Big10. The Big12 and ACC should get the rest of the FBS to leave the NCAA and start their own association. Don't play SEC/Big10 in any sport. Since no longer under NCAA
rules can come up with their own rules to make a better product. Make a much larger playoff with more teams involved even if the season has to be slightly shortened.
If the new association does not like the TV deals offered the teams could pool their money to start a new streaming
service or buy enough stock in an existing streaming service to do a hostile takeover.

Still doesn't answer it unless the SEC/B1G controls who's on the committee somehow.
I honestly don’t know how they have leverage. Bribery? Politicking? Influence from TV Partners? I don’t know. But they have it somehow.

They do. The threat of making someone irrelevant is a pretty powerful motivational tool.
Would argue the threat of making someone unemployed ought to be more powerful and voting against on the SMU thing or revenue sharing should have that effect for the NC St AD for example, but not sure the school would be that smart about it.

NC State isn't gonna fire him because they need to suck up just as badly as FSU is right now to the SEC and BIG10. They will see him, somehow, as their "in" when it comes to realignment. Firing him makes them even more irrelevant

But the votes they're taking are also making them irrelevant. :dunno:
Do you think NC State's AD's dream job is to work at NC State? He'd be gone in an afternoon if even a school like Missouri or Arkansas came calling.

This makes sense.

So now it comes down to Presidents holding ADs accountable for pursuing the best interests of the school/conference. We've seen firsthand how that's not necessarily the case. Ok, I'm caught up now.

I don't have any confidence that any AD in the ACC is on the same level as a BIG10 or SEC AD. They aren't going to take an ACC AD seriously. Kentucky's AD, right now, is much more powerful than any AD in the ACC, and that's sad.
