Expansion

So what was the purpose of the so called 'look-ins' that are apparently in the contract with ESPN?

I'm guessing if the ACC became a powerhouse/added new members that move the needle for ratings. Otherwise, it sounds good for the conference, but no risk for ESPN.

As a GWB and Condi fan, this still means nothing to me as a GT alum. But that doesn’t matter because Cabrera and Batt already apparently voted yay anyway.

Apparently, the UNC president is seen as the persuadable one right now. I dunno

They can all go suck one as far as I care. I hate UNC. Add them to the list of other asshole programs that all deserve to go suck one. UNC, NCST, Duke, FSU, Clemson now, and the ACC leadership. Plenty of blame to go around.

The fact remains, you've got at least 4 programs that are now willing to blow up the whole damn thing if they don't get what they want. A Mexican standoff.

love that meme/gif!!!

We need to get that changed over to more based on safari, etc. If we end up out of the Big Two, I hope we go back to a conference of nine.
That isn’t a bad thought. But Tech would need to go back to the type of schedule when they were independent: playing about three SEC or Big Ten schools, including UGA, each year

Yes. And auto correct changed Sagarin to Safari.

Hell yes it’s greed. They don’t even care about winning anymore. You tell me if you think Clemson or Flaweda State will play in more Natty game now or after this is over.
Or arrogance and status. They think they deserve to be in what they see as the best football conference. The ACC is a lesser conference to them

I would like the Cal and Stanford additions all the more knowing that Clemson and FSU didn't want them. And I'll hope they have away games there the week before we play them

What I don't understand is UNC will act like they are the leader of the ACC conference but when a plan becomes available to ensure the ACC's long term assurance, they vote against it. They are a bunch of two faced you know whats. If they want to clear their name with me, they need to come out and give a good reason for their "no" vote. Two faced.

Stanford is willing to not get paid for a while.

seems like little risk adding them. won't cost any money, and acc already limping along until GOR expires. travel would be a pita, but pick up all the pac schools and make a pac-pod might help. travel seems only negative, otherwise what is it hurting adding teams? i would think FSU would be voting yes, if they can keep the money stanford would forgo, since they obviously have not figured out a way to leave acc.

Just do it. I swear the douchebags at UNC have ööööed the ACC up enough over the years. It would be nice to associate with a school that has more billionaire graduates than any other D1 school. Hell, that might be good for something, especially when negotiating a new contract.
