If FSU ever makes it to the SEC i hope they put them in the East, maybe they can give uga some competition here and there
Thursday midnight..... Pacific timeIs this official yet? It seems awful quiet.
Meanwhile, Georgia legislators would probably just attempt to make GT a part of UGA to get in and fold the team.
This is a false narrative. Adding FSU and Clemson brings even more brands to the table with large stadiums and TV viewership. Clemson is the brand in South Carolina, plain and simple. FSU dominates the western side of FL through the panhandle into south AL, GA. The value add is generating even more $$$ for the SEC plain and simple. You’re in your own world if you don’t believe that.
And adding both to the SEC from a recruiting standpoint won’t make an impact either. Clemson, FSU already compete for a beat UGA, Alabama, LSU, etc for recruits. UGA, Bama, etc will still get 75% of who they want just like they do now. Changing the logo on the field from ACC to SEC is irrelevant in the case of recruiting. The Clemson and FSU brands are what sell the recruits.
More likely to fold into Georgia State... GPISU
I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for UGA alumni and fans in the Georgia legislature to strong arm UGA into forcing the SEC to invite GT. That is probably less likely than the "Go Gator" Florida legislature forcing UF to pull FSU into the SEC.
The Florida legislature is pretty much equally divided between Gator and Seminole alums and boosters. Very little Miami people. One of the major things that has always driven the Florida legislature is making sure the two teams play each year. They would pull out all the stops to make sure nothing jeopardizes that.I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for UGA alumni and fans in the Georgia legislature to strong arm UGA into forcing the SEC to invite GT. This. GT needs to put the bare minimum into all the non-revenue sports and dump it into football. Once football reaches a level where it can sustain performance incentives, then more money can filter down to the others.Count me in favor of performance based incentives in the ACC. Good timing for us, coming off an historically awful period. The teams in this conference need to invest in the football program that pays them so much. They/we haven’t, which is a big part of why the conference has fallen off, in perception and reality.
First and foremost I grew up in GA, and have lived in CA, CO and now NC. The conspiracy theories you have are a bit out there to say the least. To speculate Gibbs left for Alabama was to spotlight how he could perform against SEC talent is quite a straw man thought. Gibbs left for the obvious reasons. The writing was on the wall under the previous HC who I will not name. Gibbs talent was going to shine through regardless of where he played.I am not sure where you live; but it must not be in the southeast. I completely disagree with you and donsue that being in the SEC isn't used as part of the recruiting pitch. It would not surprise me in the least if Gibbs wasn't told he needed to go to Bama so he could demonstrate his talent against SEC competition for NFL scouts. Playing in the S-E-C has been a huge recruiting pitch for several decades now, if you don't think recruiters from Auburn and Bama bring it up when recruiting against FSU you are wrong. What year did Clemson beat Bama and UGA in recruiting?? The Clemson brand will get some recruits, but many recruits don't remember the FSU glory years, they've had Willie Taggart and Mike Norvell since then.
And Tallahassee is a öööö hole.First and foremost I grew up in GA, and have lived in CA, CO and now NC. The conspiracy theories you have are a bit out there to say the least. Clemson has averaged a Top 5-10 class for almost a decade and had a Top 2 class. During that time Texas, USC, TAMU, Auburn, etc have had multiple Top 10 classes. Here are Rivals.com rankings:
2015: #4 (Alabama #2, UGA #6)
2016: #6 (Alabama #1, UGA #9)
2018 #8 (Alabama #7, UGA #1)
2019 #9 (Alabama #2, UGA #1)
2020 #2 (Alabama #3, UGA #1)
2021 #6 (Alabama #1, UGA #5)
2022 #10 (Alabama #2, UGA #3)
2023 #10 (Alabama #1, UGA #2)
So yes, they have beaten Alabama and UGA in recruiting multiple times. What cracks me up is you really think that there is much of a gap between the classes.
As far as FSU’s recruiting, you can check for yourself. They are doing just fine as well in that department.
Clemson, FSU are going to get talent whether they remain in the ACC or go to the B1G, B12 or SEC. Add in NIL deals now, and bringing up what conference you play in is irrelevant. Travis Hunter is a prime example of that. FSU has also flipped multiple UGA commits and just took Bolden who was considered a UGA lock.
Agree with most things you post. Not this time. I live in Tallahassee and it isn’t a ööööhole. It has it’s warts like any place else, but is coming up in the world. Besides, I get to wear a GT shirt! And Tallahassee is a öööö hole.

It is exactly a öööö hole. There is nothing redeeming about Tallahassee. Nothing.Agree with most things you post. Not this time. I live in Tallahassee and it isn’t a ööööhole. It has it’s warts like any place else, but is coming up in the world. Besides, I get to wear a GT shirt!
