I take it you and @Supersize that order mutt haven't been staying on top of this thread. There was a GT/Cal alum a few pages back that enlightened us.It’s all shrouded in mystery, as there are several fight songs with similar tunes/lyrics. But the reference to “the farm” in White and Gold has no particular meaning in GT lore (other than a retroactive interpretation disparaging our cow college rival), while “Stanford Farm” was/is(?) explicitly a thing.
Cal speculates that we swiped it at the 1929 Rose Bowl, but Tech dates our version of the song earlier than that. I think Cal claims 1913 and Tech claims 1918, or something like that.
Also take a look at the Colorado School of Mines fight song…
