Expansion

Makes sense that NC State would be the one to flip. Clemson, FSU, and UNC are traitors.
ööööing UNC has never accomplished a damn thing in the history of that öööö program. The ONLY reason why they are in ANY expansion talks or have ANY clout is they see that there is no school from North Carolina in the SEC. I hate that ööööing school.

UNC not only voted against the expansion (fine), but then went out a posted a public statement against it.

Not sure why there is some blowback about the move. NCSU flipping secures the ACC from folding now through 2036. That’s what most people wanted. It allows GT ample time now to build back the brand in the ever changing landscape of NIL, etc.

Agreed. Overall, positive move. The ACC just doesn't have a lot of options.

Is the vote the end of it, or do the Traitorous 3 still have a way to throw a wrench into things?

Edit: UNC's public statement was yesterday so maybe it's moot now that the vote has happened.

We need to get creative in scheduling basketball games vs our new west coast colleagues.

Play 2 away games (GT @ Cal on a Friday). Spend a long weekend there (GT @ Cal Sunday night). Then fly home.

Then Cal @ GT the following year with the same set up.

Well, as much as I despise UNC, they bring up good points about the non-revenue sports.
Unless they are white-knighting for the Calford student athletes this is a BS excuse, it should only be 1 west coast trip per year for non-revenue teams so maybe 4 extra hours of travel time per year. Id guess the student athletes might even look forward to it.

I read the statement as Wah Wah Wah, I didn't get my way, my influence gets reduced, I'll try to bully another member (NCSt) to change their mind to match my selfish over inflated opinion. F 'em

how many years before this is a conference

duke
wake
stanford
cal berkeley
vanderbilt
GT
boston college

blah blah blah etc... maybe northwestern and rice also

I despise all this conference realignment crap. I wish we still had the old SWC with the Texas schools & Arkansas, and the Big 8 with Oklahoma & Nebraska. It makes since for Miami to be in the ACC and probably WV, but BC and Syracuse belong in the Big East. I also liked some of the bowl/conference tie ins. The SEC champ to the Sugar, SWC champ to the Cotton, etc…

We need to change the pod format and scheduling model. Two teams getting to play SMU every year while two others have to play Clemson every year is about as big of a gap as I can imagine.
They have already setup Duke, UNC, and SMU in a pod.

Have we heard from the UNC women's soccer coach? Dude did not want this to happen.
