öööö emMakes sense that NC State would be the one to flip. Clemson, FSU, and UNC are traitors.
Sucks for sports other than football, basketball. Hopefully they worked out a way to minimize the travelApparently an all sports add. What a dumb checkers move by the ACC.
Reads like sarcasm, but I'm good with those roadtrips.I think this is awesome and can't wait for the GT-Stanford and GT-California games!
This is overblown for current acc members, they can set up schedules such that each of the non-revenue teams only has to make 1 west coast trip a year, and for football its a nothing burger. It'll suck for calford but this is what they wantJFC for jetlag football conference. Or the other common meaning for that acronym
Sincere. I think they're great match-ups with non-factory teams with long football traditionsReads like sarcasm, but I'm good with those roadtrips.
Alternate Coasts Conference?Another Coast Conference
100% NONE! ND was nor will they ever join the ACC FT for football. They have no reason too. They’ve made the CFP as a 4 team playoff numerous times, and will have the ability to do so even more going to 12 teams. Combined with the NBC media deal, and no one can force them to do anything. People who think the ACC could ever force them into joining FT are completely ignoring reality. ND controls the situation, always has, and always will. They could easily bolt for more $$$ tomorrow to either the B1G or SEC.What leverage did ACC have?
1000% what I said when this all came up. Add Wazzou, Oregon State to create the pod. SMU in the middle. This would alleviate a lot of the soon to be travel issues. That said, traveling to Pullman and Corvallis isn’t easy now for the P12. Both are very remote schools.I’d really rather have taken all 4 PAC 12 refugees to make a west coast pod, which might mitigate some of the travel difficulties depending on how we structure the scheduling.
I’m curious how much money we’re really making off of the Notre Dame arrangement. I wish we would just man up and tell them to GTFO. Letting them be a partial member with a full vote is embarrassing.
JRjr
ND apparently led the charge for this expansion because it benefits them to have one of their yearly opponents as now an ACC member.
I’d guess that it ND now gets to count Stanford as one of its required acc games which is a net loss for everyone else.
The ACC should have also told ND to join or the ACC will support a no path to playoffs option for independents at the next playoff committee meeting.
Coast to Coast Conference
I think we need to see the details before whining like a bunch of little girls about it; but if UNC was against it, I am for it because it was probably a good deal for the rest of the conference.
Get a special Delta non-stop to San Francisco, or maybe a stopover in Dallas. Not too bad, at least from Atlanta. But yeah, getting to remote Oregon is a whole other thing.1000% what I said when this all came up. Add Wazzou, Oregon State to create the pod. SMU in the middle.
