Expansion

It's going to take a while before we get to the end of this conference mess. However, I think GT survives because it has ALOT to offer, in more ways than one. Just my two cents.

At the very least, I feel like our AD and President this time are going to put us in the best position they can. If we get left behind, it won’t be for a lack of trying.

If you stopped buying season tickets because of the last coach, now is the time to buy back in and support the program. If you don't live close enough to buy season tickets, donate to the Tech Way.

It looks like Big 10 doesn't really want Oregon and Washington. Sounds like Big 10, in a position of strength, may be low balling them. Imagine being offered half a paycheck, half as much as Rutgers and Northwestern get, bahaha. Nevermind, that could be us in a year or two.

If I were the B1G I would make sure the contract allows me to bounce any of the west coast schools on no notice if the conference determines a state law is detrimental to any school not in that state. Tying your future to the whims of CA, OR, or WA is dangerous.
Absolute truth if those schools were going to the SEC. But B1G schools as they are today? Minnesota is just as likely to do something dumb as CA.

The Big 10 and SEC refuse to be open and declare their end game and let us move on to the next iteration of college football. So, they add two schools at a time on their own timetable. They could care less how much instability this brings to other schools and conferences. They know their members don’t want to increase the slices of the pie too quickly. So, they ease in a new couple of schools every three years or so. They act in self interest, nothing surprising about that.

What is sad is how the other schools and conferences have not stood together to sanction their pilfering and unwillingness to create a stable model for college football going forward. They could have acted in solidarity against these two conferences. But, I guess they all want to eventually be invited to join and don’t want to offend the conference giants. Sad.

Um. We set this in motion back in the early 2000s when the ACC raided and caused the collapse of the Big East.
