A lot of post complaining about the GOR and the term. I think there are two ways to look at this (and either can be correct for Ga. Tech):
The long term GOR is GOOD for GA. Tech
1) Assuming no one can get out of the GOR till the end or near the end
a) Ga Tech is in the 3rd best conference with the 3rd best revenue
b) The next round of Media deals in ~ 2030-31 - has a very good chance of having payments reduced (e.g. Current PAC 12 offer, SEC - no extra money for 9th game, ESPN troubles/cable cutting) - So this would give ACC better deal 2030-2036 than the open market
c) At the end of the GOR - Ga. Tech still could get in one of the Big 2
d) Even if a couple of teams get out of the GOR - ESPN still on the hook for paying the remaining remaining schools and buyout terms of those schools - I assume
e) Not likely, but maybe a chance for expansion or agreement with PAC for small revenue increase, plus some growth with ACC Network
The long term GOR is BAD for GA. Tech.
1) Being a life long Tech Fan - I am sure this will happen - LOL
2) Assuming the GOR does not hold up with 8 schools leaving (ACC bye bye) and GT does not get an invite to SEC, BIG, or even BIG12
3) Soon we get an invite to the SEC or BIG and cannot leave because of the GOR
4) we have to go to the AAC and hire Collins back - LOL
