Fire Collins

As I said ….maybe in year 5 Collins can win a Acc championship with some teams kicked out due to a plague or something and all will be forgiven
Maybe you are a ööööing idiot douching up the football board. Collins will win nothing ever. Not in year 5 or in year 10

How did Pastner look after 13 win year 2 or 14 win year 3?

yes he won the acc championship end of year 5 in a 2 game tournament then promptly lost to Illinois Chicago

I just find it amusing that many of these same posters who coddled Pastner through years of sucking and probation won’t give Collins the same courtesy
Pastner has and always will like better than an incompetent ass clown like Collins. Can you literally not see it ? It’s obvious.

Bobby Ross at this point in his career was already an ACC championship coach and ACC Coach of the Year award winner.

Geoff isn’t and will never be at that level.

We should stop comparing the two.

P.S.

Bobby Ross deserves a statue in or around BDS.
True, but after 4 games in 1989, he was widely considered by GT fans an old, has been, who was just drawing a paycheck.

It’s easy to blame Collins. And it’s obvious he isn’t Ross or O’Leary. But there is blame to go around. Remind me again where we are in terms of alumni support and booster $$$ relative to other FBS programs—-

Dead last.

Ever hear the phrase: “You get what you pay for?”

I was thinking on the way home after sitting on that crappy train.

As long as the alumni donations flow into Roll Call at a ten to one ratio compared to the AT, the administration of the Institute is going to run things the same way.

Yes, GT is a world-class school...but face it: Most of the people who went to college at Georgia Tech were usually the ones picked last on the playground and don't really give a crap about sports.

GO JACKETS!!

Even dimwits like myself sitting in the stands last night could clearly see that this team wasn’t coached in the fundamentals of football. Instead, they got plenty of schooling on how to make their Instagram/Twitter profiles more appealing. Playing football properly has taken a back seat to everything else under Collins.

Say this after we get curbed stomped by Clemson and maybe it will land, but $ was not the issue last night.

He looked BETTER in year 3 than year 2 and he looke BETTER in year 4 than year 3. Something Collins has yet to do. We have looked the same or worse in all phases.

How good of coordinators will we need to be semi-respectable? Or to just beat the NIUs of the world?

NIU coach was able to draw up run plays that let a 3 star back run for a half marathon on us last night. And he was running behind a smaller OL than what we have. Or we can stick with the jet sweep that apparently doesn’t account for either OLB.

And why run the play where Smith walked into the end zone only once. We should have given that play a second chance.

DL still not getting any penetration. Secondary played well enough. NIU made some really nice catches in tight coverage. But the front 7 got embarrassed in the run game.

Anyone who's ever had a manager like Collins in the business world could see this coming. Some people just focus so much on the strategy that they completely lose sight of the execution side of things and think that it will be fixed by buzzwords and motivation.

I don't think Collins has the self awareness of Dabo. We need a change at OC. Brent Key is so full of himself I don't know where to start.

Our defense was somehow worse than our offense last year, but have shown spells where I think they can be competent. We can't keep putting them in pressure situations because they fold like lawnchairs. Last night, we needed to stomp on some throats up 21-14 and we did on the first defensive series then after whatever the öööö it was that our offense did, our defense just quit. I mean totally ööööing quit. If we're going to have the offensive philosophy we've got, your defense has to trust itself to hold in those situations.

Our offensive and defensive philosophies are paradoxical at the moment. We talk about complementary football, but can't do it on offense and the defense gets gassed and quits. It happened several times last year when we were in winnable situations and again last night.

We need an offensive head coach who knows the area and is familiar with the challenges of winning at a place like Tech. There's a guy who's out of work right now who fits the bill.

The Chan Equlibrium is a welcome thing right now.

Year 2 ….13-19 ….6-12

year 3 …..14-19…..6-12

So much improvement

We were pounding them with Mason, he was grinding out the yards even when a hole wasn’t there. Smith is similar in style. Gibbs is a HR threat but when the game requires a road grader, he’s not your guy. Not sure why that wasn’t clear to any of our coaches. Not the first game this has been readily apparent to anyone watching the play by play execution. Really feel sorry for both those guys, because Mr hypey changey is going to force his square peg in the round hole regardless of the outcome.

I agree that Mason was grinding it out pretty good. I disagree on Gibbs though. He can grind it. Pat seems to draw up a lot more outside the tackle plays for him though. Gibbs was getting good yardage between the tackles.

NIU was bringing a lot of outside pressure. That jet sweep read option developed too slowly. We did a lot better with the straight up runs between the tackles.

I don’t remember any two back sets either. Did we have any plays with Gibbs and Mason on the field at the same time?
