Fire TStan

My $0.02: TStan made a hire with great upside and, if it failed, would have the recruiting chops to turn over the roster with quality players better suited for most schemes and, therefore, put the next guy in a position to win from Day 1. The unfortunate, for us, reality is with NIL and the transfer portal, the landscape of CFB has radically changed in terms of roster stability and the logic of the hire is out the window.

I'll further note that the same thing happened to us last time with the advent of spread offenses meaning our differentiator that would allow us to pursue generally less desirable, different skill sets that we still valued went away and we ended up competing for the same recruits anyways so we never got the full upside of DRAD's logic with that hire especially when the blocking rules for receivers changed.

While the Geoff Collins hire was bad... I am not so sure, I want AD TStan fired.... Geoff is the only one who wanted to take on the task of replacing CPJ... He has also shown the world that GT can recruit (We need to keep Marco Coleman and Coach Choice, and bring back Derrick Moore)

Also the AD GTAA AI 2020 raised more than 40M over the goal despite having CGC horrible coaching on the flats..... I say we only fire him if Coach Collins is kept past nest season...From here, here’s what I expect will happen: the team will play out this season, and will probably win 3-4 games, similar to recent years. After 3 years, Geoff Collins will fire at least one (if not both) of his coordinators, finally making changes to the staff that remains intact from when they were originally hired almost 3 full years ago, and some will say we need to give his program a second chance with the new coaching staff. Next year, there will be some sort of offseason slogan on shirts and hats like “W.I.N.B.A.T.T.” (which, of course, stands for “W.I.N., But Actually This Time”), we’ll hear about how great the new schemes are looking and how everyone’s getting better every single day, and we’ll talk about expectations that the team will be able to win 7-8 games. They won’t, and instead will go about 5-7 with at least one downright head-scratching loss. Geoff Collins will be relieved of his duties as Georgia Tech’s head coach, and we’ll start the process all over again, hopefully with some improved on-field results.

So I will get on the fire the AD if he does not fire CGC after next season... FWIW I will not be renewing my season tickets next year if CGC is still on the flats after this year.

Well, it's obvious that TStan has low expectations. With his attitude, we will never see any change or significance to the program.

Disappointing.

I don't think TStan needs to go. He hired a young-ish head coach that was really excited to specifically be at GT. It hasn't worked out so far besides recruiting, and I doubt we will see a major change next year. Outside of football, we have seen lots of improvement in other sports. I know football pretty much funds the rest of the sports, but he has lead the AA to a good place (again outside of football). I'm not going to read the article, but considering that we are basically stuck with CGC no matter what for I would guess at least 2 more seasons, this article might be trying to lower the temperature and get people more onboard since it's going to be like this for a while.

I think we are pretty much forced to give him one more season, but that's it, unless we see BIG IMPROVEMENT.

Shouldn’t “obviously” be in quotes? ’Cause I ain’t seeing it.

The cynic in me is coming out. Collins makes some cosmetic changes after this year. Since the football gods have hated GT for most of my life, GT gets some ridiculously lucky bounces, and Collins scrapes together 6 wins next year. Can't fire a coach taking you to a bowl game. We then alternate between three and six win seasons for a decade.

He can’t afford to. Collins buyout is too much for GT to handle for a few years.

The people above TDope don’t care.
I don't buy the "ain't got no money" song and dance.
The AD is the one who's hired to do fund raising.
If he doesn't like his job he can move on and take his clown with him.
He raised the 125 mil and exceeded that by 40-50 mil. This is chump change.

Exactly, he has the money, but he as to spend it. Im not in favor of letting Collins go, but our defensive staff needs to be fired enmasse.
