Football Scoop potential candidates

Clay Helton should be in the list of potentials. Not saying he should be the one, but he should at least get a call.

Bobby Petrino should also get a call, but that would be like inviting Sherman back to Atlanta as much as falcons fans hate him.

FCS

He's winning by recruiting FBS or P5 caliber players to an FCS school. That won't work here, we're not FCS.

I think that is a fair concern. Can he assemble a coaching staff that can capitalize on the recruiting? I suspect he could, but it is a big unknown.

This would be the high risk, high return move. Are we buying Amazon or Pets.com?

Deion Sanders as HC worst case scenario: Give UGAg the same treatment VT got from Mike London at UVA... severing all the major recruiting pipelines.

Deion Sanders as HC best case scenario: Sanders as CEO and public face for a high powered highly compensated staff that sticks around and molds the talented clay Sanders brings in.

Why Helton? The dude was the definition of underachieving at USC.

Sanders' style is Miami not GT. Whenever I've heard him talk he sounds like a dope. No thanks. At the P5 level you don't win solely by recruiting--Collins demonstrated that.
Collins didn’t have top ten classes like Deion can get.

Bobby Petrino?

And? He's bringing 5 stars to FCS... He would make us a top 10, if not a top 5 recruiting team in the country. He would do for us what Jimbo did for TAMU, but he would actually win.

He brought 1 5* athlete to a FCS school (the first time it's ever happened). That's not necessarily an indication of sustainable success.

All I'm saying is if you take an FCS team that went 4-7, and you get them 11 wins, and a better recruiting class than a good amount of power 5s, you should be given some damn good consideration
