Sims has a lot to do with the downfall of the Collins regime. His talent level is high enough that you play him. But, over three seasons he has been frequently injured. That has meant games we play without him with backups that make the offense look bad or games we play with him that he clearly holds back and plays slow because of injury. Either way, the offense ends up looking historically bad and the team suffers.
I thought in Key’s first two games he played more fearlessly and at full speed. He got hurt at the end of the Duke game and reverted back to playing slower and less physical last week. He was also very good when he came off the bench against UNC.
My guess is that he will be out for all or most of the remainder of the season. Our new coach will need to bring in a good QB and go in a new direction next year.
