FSU 20.5 point favorite.

Sims helped us win against Pitt and Duke. I do t think he took himself out of the game last week. Not sure where y’all’s info comes from
It's made up. It is clear from the stories around the team that Sims WANTED to go back into the game, but had his helmet taken from him - meaning, you're done for the day.

We aren't in the business of permanently injuring our players. We are the Miami Dolphins who will send Tua out with a severe injury.

He was walking around the bench dapping up teammates. Getting pulled from a game normally requires a player to be using crutches to take the weight off the injured ankle.
Tony Hollings wasn't on crutches and Tech fans wanted to skewer Chan for putting him back in the game after getting dinged up.

I am picking us to lose 41-14. I see nothing to suggest that we will walk into FSU's turf and win. Maybe I'm wrong. But, I see no fight on this team. It looked like they gave up, in the middle of the UVA game. Maybe the next HC can get some spark lit, next year.

It's crazy to me how differently people can see things. For me, the only consistent positive throughout the year (even under Collins) is that the team generally has not given up. Plenty of examples of high energy, hustle plays, and in general we seemed to be getting beat due to lack of talent or good coaching rather than effort.

That's been especially true the last three games. Two close wins where we fought down to the wire, not backing down after both oppenents made late charges, and then the UVA game where the D pitched a 3 point third quarter and shut out fourth quarter, plus blocked a punt. Unfortunately the O was atrocious, but I don't know how you could have watched that game and thought it was due to lack of fight rather than a completely unprepared quarterback (although obviously he did quit on the last play...)

Anyway, all that to say that on the list of reasons why this team is under .500, lack of fight would be way down my list.

No fight in this team? Gave up? You mean the team that's defense went out and only allowed the other team to score 3 in the 2nd half (which came on a turnover inside the 10) even though the offense went 6 straight 3 and outs and QB was completely inept? Doesn't sound like giving up or not fighting to me.

FSU. It's interesting again. I think we have a shot. Amazing what an AD/HC change will do for the attitude. GO JACKETS! GO TECH! BEAT THE SEMENHOLES!!!!!

Walking around and being able to run, cut, plant and throw are completely different things.
Maybe, but I've never seen someone come out of the game and then just walk around so easily. It reminded me of Stephen Hill coming up injured after a drop.

I do wish they'd give some transparency into what his injury is. I guess they're trying to play it close to the vest for strategic reasons, and the opinions of message board fans are probably way down on their list of priorities, but it sucks to see everyone speculating about this.

Stephen Hill also looked like a velociraptor. Maybe velociraptors went extinct due to constant leg injuries. You can't prove my theory wrong.

Speculation complete.

We'll see. Key has his weekly press conference today, and I think Sims was going for xrays/scans on Friday, so we wouldn't know anything until today anyway. I have heard that he has a broken bone/bones in his foot. Maybe his ankle, maybe in a different area. I don't know for sure or if it's true at all.

Wow, we do see that differently. I saw the team quit on Collins a lot. Probably 3 games a year where they just mailed it in. Clemson, Ole Miss, and probably UCF this year (the first two for sure, with quitting before the game with Ole Miss). I only saw that against Minn with CPJ (similar to the Tenuta bowl game). Uga and VT 51-7 games with Chan. Didn’t ever see it with O’Leary.

I haven’t seen any quit under Key save for one player on one play.

Not sure what you were watching. The D fought for the whole game, and it’s not like the offense gave up (until the last play), they just weren’t good enough. The backup QB looked unprepared and the offensive staff didn’t seem ready to call a game for him. Maybe with a week of first team reps for the backup(s) everybody will be better. (Not saying we’ll win, but I think we’ll compete.)

JRjr
SHHH.. I picked us to beat UVA and we lost. I am using reverse picking here...

The Ole Miss game I didn't get to start watching until we were down like 14 and after that I was mostly drinking/talking with people since it was a blowout. Definitely could have been some quit there.

Not sure how much this means in terms of whether or not Sims will play... but it certainly seems to hint that they may be getting Pyron ready to play:

We need to at least see what he has if Sims really does have a broken bone. Especially given Chip's thoughts on him when he was first hired.

It wasn’t even quit, like the uga game last year, we never even showed up.

Redshirts are overrated. It would have been nice to hold him out one more game so he has the extra season, but players gotta play.

Depending on the extent of Sims's injury he may still be able to redshirt and play this weekend.
