Geoff Collins on 680 This Morning

Oh. So the offensive line whiffed on EVERY PLAY? Oh, my bad...no so they blocked on some? Well I guess the coaches get credit for them actually blocking somebody. Or do the coaches just get all the blame and the players all the credit in that stupid f'ing dream world you live in?

Jesus, you're a moron.
I thought name-calling was not allowed on here. You Collins fans sure seem to do a lot of it.

Clown trumpeted Sims spending time in Weinke's office and soaking all that up.
That's all well and good - but didn't he do the same thing before the 2021 season, praising Sims for all the time he was spending watching film with Patenaude on their "really good Temple offenses"?

I still am puzzled that if they knew communication among the DBs was such an issue during the season that nothing overtly was done to correct it? If having the positions split up is leading to commo problems, well, get them in the same room again. Kinda simple, Geoff.
I'll go back to a story PJ told me years ago. He was the OC at Southern and they were on the road at Northern Iowa in the playoffs. The head coach coached from the press box, not the sidelines. Game's over, Southern has put up 40 on UNI, and Darrell Mudra (the UNI head coach) and PJ are in the elevator headed down to the field. Mudra says, "I told them if they stayed in that defense, you guys would burn us." PJ said he thought to himself, "you're the head coach, dude. You can tell them to get the f--- out of that defense."
The point of that story is — Collins can implement any change he wants at any time. He's the head coach. Be the head coach. Not the head cheerleader.
If after five years none of this has dawned on him ... it may never.

I'm not a Collins fan. I'm a GT fan.
I have been a Tech fan since 1955 and going to games EVERY YEAR since 1962, missing a total of only about 4 games. I suffered through Curry and Lewis, and I called them out too for being the lousy coaches that they were. I'm not going to stop telling the truth now. I love the Yellow Jackets. But I HATE HATE HATE that putz named Geoff Collins, who is POSING as a college football coach. DEAL WITH IT !!!

I listened to the entire interview, to me it was pretty much the same oh. same oh, with CGC.

A couple times in the interview Joe Hamilton tried to pin Collins down on specific questions about certain
facets of the team, and once again true to form, the used car salesman shows up evading the questions
asked of him.

I'm 2/3rds of the way through. I haven't heard juice once. I posted this without even finishing it cause the change in tone is that obvious.

He's insightful, answers questions directly, etc. He sounds like a football coach instead of a C-suite marketing exec.

He's got some great insight into the Portal and coaches coming and going. There's some notable/admirable answers with some read between the lines mixed in.
Crazy what happens when your career is on the line

Mmmm, yeah. Somehow this story didn’t pack quite the same punch after I remembered the defenses PJ fielded. Unless you were going for humor. The elevator quote juxtaposed to what we got on the field is gold

Hard to field a a good defense or have appropriate recruiting possibilities when the AD won't give you the necessary funds to do so. Time and again, CPJ asked for more, and time and again he was refused. Meanwhile, TStan gives CCG whatever he wants and then some.

Right. It's three AD's faults that he went through four (five?) DC's in 11 years. I can't even remember all of them at this point. Wommack, Groh, Roof, Woody...did I miss any? His recruiting was poor even early on so scapegoating the AD's for that doesn't make sense, either. He got an IPF and upgraded locker rooms during his tenure.

By your logic CGC let Choice and Coleman leave because he wanted to, not because he couldn't match their offers. If you believe that then things are starting to make sense.

We have no idea why Coleman and Choice left, nor what part Collins or TStan may or may not have played in their decision to leave. So don't feed me that crap. The facts are out there that DRad nor TStan gave Johnson what he needed most, which was resources. Improved facilities were OBVIOUSLY needed, but so was a recruiting staff and a quality DC.

Delusional. Why didn't PJ just take over the defense? The head coach is responsible for everything! Sorry, but when you chew through DC's every couple years it's not a them thing, it's a you thing.

Meanwhile for some absurd reason you continue to defend the single worst football coach in Georgia Tech history and one of the worst, if not the worst college football coaches in the entire country. And you call me delusional? HA !!!
