Gibson: “it is why it is”

If he gets invited to combine, NFL has lost all credibility in scouting its players
No, it doesn't. It means the NFL sees something in him that we aren't getting from him. Perhaps scouts see we aren't blocking for him. Put him behind Alabama's OL and he might look all world. I believe Jack Coco made an NFL roster, last I saw, would you have expected that?

HE knows. He knows how far he can throw a football. And it's not even remotely close to 65 yards.

You're like a man with terminal cancer complaining that your eggs were undercooked. Really, un ööööing believable.

I’d hope that both you and he know that he doesn’t have to throw the ball to the end zone. Throw it up and see what happens. (Better yet, have a play set for the situation, like the hook and ladder that UVA beat us with in Charlottesville.)

Giving up on a game that’s one play (plus an XP) away from a tie is a bad look, and you’re not going to convince me otherwise no matter how much you rant and rave with your unchecked anger issues.

If I was down 7 points to cancer in middle age and at the end my doctor decided to just let me die because the last lifesaving procedure had only a very small chance to work, I'd probably complain.

Well, I would if I wasn't dead, anyway.

If I knew my QB was going to just quit, I would have called a swing pass to the RB behind the LOS so that everyone could down field block. Extremely low percentage chance of succeeding, but better than running out of bounds.

Yep, get it to McCollum. Tell him to go score.

Has anyone ever tried a play where you just get your 11 fastest players, line them up, throw that short pass to an eligible player, then just play rugby down the field? No need for OL at that point

Since they had everyone back, just quick kick it and hope it bounces a defender.

Game would be over, you can't advance the ball on a muffed punt and it wouldn't result in an extra untimed down as far as I know.

That is only on a kickoff, isn't it?

And even then, dumb rule.

I thought that was kickoffs, but I could see a punt.

Throw it as far as you can. Worst case you lose the game. Go out like a man.

For actual competitors, running OB doesn't even occur to them as an option. That's why you see 99% of QBs in this situation dancing around behind the LOS for as long as possible - to try and make something - anything - happen, no matter how low the odds.

Anyone who'd choose to run OOB in a situation like this is a quitter, not a competitor. They may have the skills to play but they're not ultimately winners when you dig down deeply.

A-Rod and his clown Packers tried to do that yesterday vs the Commandos. They got down near the 20 before some OL dropped a side-pitch.

Shouldn't have been an OL on the field. Fastest WR's, RB's, corners, and safeties...

It was a no-timeouts-left situation - I doubt they could've substituted that package on/off the field in time to get the snap off.

A-Rod did NOT run OB though.

I was actually expecting the QB to clock the ball. That is probably a coaching error.
