GT - Clemson sells out

I mean at this point I'll take 51k for any game at all. But it was a little disheartening to be a top 10 team and not be able to sell out our stadium.
The reason GT can’t get those numbers is not because of the coaching. It’s because GT is so intelligent it’s stupid. GT is really really dumb. What you learned at GT was toughness mixed in with learning more of whatever you chose. What you have done after that is Andrew. It’s the toughness you learned that matters.

What matters is football is a recruiting tool for the school. GT never has latched onto that concept. “ It’s a school full of nerds and no girls”, Atlanta is full of pretty girls. Also, now since the push for girls in stem has caught on. GT will continue to flounder on the football field until someone realizes their potential. That is GT failing to realize btw.

Let's face it. Tech is flat broke, particularly compared to almost all "Power 5" programs. We all know the reason why, that idiot Braine saddled us with Gaily, Hewitt contracts, followed by more moronic decisions by AD's who were damn idiots. Here is where we are, the best thing we can do is hold our breath and stop living the old days which I love, and realize we need to get out of debt. Sell a couple of "home" games to Georgia and Clemson, hell , we actually play them better in Athens anyway, and get our tails out of the red. Cut our losses, stop the bleeding and start the rebuild with at least some money. Now, as for the topic at hand, I agree, I am not sure why they classify it as a sellout with the upper deck blocked off. That's a joke. Open it up.
Since we are dragging the old öööö out of the new öööö… wasn’t it Braine who said “GT is a seven win program”? What was the quote gtflunkout?

There’s smart and there’s GT smart.

GT smart optimizes the nuclear reactor, designs a faster chip and quadruples the memory in the same space using half the power, he conceptualizes the Beltline, etc.

Smart is the guy that starts the company, hires a bunch of GT brainiacs to solve problems and pays them a healthy salary. Smart finds the Finance guys, buys off the politicians, surrounds himself with marketing, IT people and Supply Chain wizards. He makes a mountain of cash and donates $5M to the football program every year because we need it.

We don’t have many Smart people in our ranks, myself included.

1986, at the West stands - South stands intersection....or what was left of it:

I worked with several of those guys at a company founded by two older ones. Some pretty good fellers.
The FAScists. Factory Automation Systems.....the reason why Phi Kappa Tau had the most automated homecoming displays for 30 years (and hopefully making a comeback).

That’s where I worked. The president was engineering manager at a different place when he hired me right out of GT. I ran into him at a football game right after he and his buddy started FAS and he offered me a job. I was like the 15th employee or something. He and his wife became close friends of ours.

Lol at anyone who still thinks this is a home game.

Just received confirmation from the ticket office that all allocations were split equally between GT and Clemson because this is a Kickoff Classic game and not a home game. So if you thought you were tailgating in the Home Depot lot like last year.... you're not.

So we gave up a home game against a conference opponent and have to resume the away part of the rotation as usual next year?

Look, what's important is that someone, somewhere, is making a ööööload of money off this.

So what was the incentive to do this game? I suppose a weak contract allowed the Chick-fil-A kickoff folk to select this game.

At this point how can anyone believe TStan is a competent AD. It appears we lost ticket revenue and a home field advantage. The sad thing is that no one in charge seems to care.

Just think. We gave up a home game at BDS to play in a neutral site game selling 13,000 less tickets.

But I was the asshole when I pointed this out months ago

Clown. Show.
The word is AA bought a lot of tickets, told everyone it’s sold out and started listing them on StubHub. Profit.
