I don't see the SEC picking up Clemson or FSU. Seems like the SEC expansions of late have been teams in states where they don't already have a presence (Texas being an obvious exception). Why go into competition against yourself when you can go into new territory?

Looking at a map I would think the SEC would go after Va Tech or UVA assuming UNC isn't interested. If Kansas or Kansas State had a better football programs it would make sense too. Ohio State would make sense as well; but like UNC I think they are more likely to find a way to counter than to join the SEC.

I think our best hope is some sort of ACC - B1G merger. I hope the B1G sees it the same way.

One positive is that it will life tougher for UGA. I’m visiting in Georgia this week and the UGA fans calling into the radio shows are not happy. I don’t blame them. They will play more games they can lose.
 
I think I need to buy an "Emory Football -- Undefeated" shirt. Or a Sewanee 1901 shirt.

It is not 2012 anymore. This is no longer about tv markets. Netflix and streaming services have changed everything, and now it is about eyeballs on specific programs, ie: Brands. The SEC went after brands, not TV markets. Adding other schools, despite being in other tv markets adds nothing. Look at the tv numbers outside of OU and Texas; they are nothing. There's no reason to add a Baylor/SMU as Big 12 tv numbers are abysmal outside of Texas/OU.
 
Honestly, mostly because I hate the SEC just slightly less than I hate U(sic)GA, I want the biggest names from the ACC, B1G, and Pac12 to form a rival league. It's the only way you're going to have the brand recognition and television markets to rival the new SEC.

Nothing like this will ever happen because commissioners will act first to preserve their own power.

It would be funny if the the Big 12 had the balls to openly job Oklahoma (and UT) for four years. Phantom holding calls on big plays, mystery pass interference...the kind of stuff the ACC is known for, only more so. Also, they have to know where some of the skeletons are hid, sounds like time to drag them out and get them put on probation. Taint both programs as much as possible before the SEC takes ownership.

There are rumors swirling around USC shopping their program to get more national recognition to jump start their football program. Most of the talking heads are saying they’re talking to B10, but if the ACC can bag them with ND, that would be a huge push on getting us headed in the right direction. ND gets a nationwide schedule built in an ACC schedule, USC gets coverage coast to coast with access to southeastern recruiting grounds, and the ACC opens up California recruiting and markets. Hopefully we’re not asleep at the wheel here. That could dramatically alter the ACC’s attractiveness in attracting other high end programs (PSU).

They will still want that Oklahoma playoff money as ever.

I don't think UT and Oklahoma last in Big 12 more than 2021 and 2022. I think they either pay up to leave, or Big 12 breaks up when other teams split.

The other teams have nowhere to go. Nobody. Wants. Them. They would love the opportunity to split but they'll be forced to expand.
 
If you were the Commissioners of PAC12. BigInteger ACC Big12 or AAC would you trust the SEC right now in negotiations over CFP''s or for that matter any subject? I wouldn't - the SEC commissioner is on a 4 panel commission studying CFP with Big12 commissioner while taking 50-75% of his revenue. In business this would be ok, but this is collegiate athletics not business. Sounds a bit much to me.
