Sounds just like the Hive. We would lose a game cause Chan can't coach and fans would be angry, locked threads, banned posters, call names of other posters for giving their sincere opinions. Pretty nasty stuff.

This divide has come about because fans of Georgia Tech that didn't like Chan Gailey and fans of Georgia Tech that did like Chan Gailey decided to take charge (negatively) against the them.

The fans that did like him - called out that fans that didn't and the crap hit the fan! That's what this is ALL ABOUT.

Instead of respecting the opinions of those who were in disagreement concerning our coach - the blatant, nasty, volatile namecalling and attacks began. Yes, it came from both sides, but for those who got most of the wrath - the dissenters, it was wrong, it's still wrong.

That's why this divide started and is still here! And any GT fan that says different has been 'on vacation with their heads in the sand' for 6 seasons and are not being truthful!

You really don't get it do you? I don't care one ounce what beebad's opinion is. I do care about people who claim to be Tech fans making fun of my team, which he's done. I also care about people who lie, delete posts and act like they weren't there and change other's posts to make them look bad, which he's done. Finally I don't like people who harass me by emailing me out of the blue because he doesn't like posts I've made on other boards which have nothing to with him, which he's done. This has nothing to do with the Tech fan base as far as I'm concerned. It has everything to do with someone who has shown me they are a person who does not deserve my respect.

She lost her son in an occupation she doesn't believe in and she to has a right to speak out. I see now, that it really doesn't matter - if you aren't thinking alike (like you want) - you're put on the outside, and we don't want you in.

That word 'elitest' I used earlier in this thread permeates the responses I have gotten as to why this base is split - 'you better not do this or you will be labeled negatively forever'!

Well, Chan Gailey was wrong for Tech and those who said it a long time ago were right. Those who fought against them with there divisive attacks were wrong in how they went about it. Disagree all you want but how it was done was insane.

That is what happened and that is the divide. It was nurtured by more than one fan that's for damn sure.

Your arguments here are simply parroting how the POS moderator and his groupies justified their efforts to not only get the coach fired, but to tear down Tech and its real fans as well.

One of their favorite lines is "you have no right to say who is really a fan" that you've parroted here, but anyone who truly cares about GT and its people, institutions, history, and sports knows where the line is. It's not a hard edged, sharply defined line, but a wide line with lots of gray on either side.

I will defend this board and BO! People like beeware went way to far. He never gave Gailey a chance, he from day one called Gailey a "deer in the head lights". MsTA gave Gailey a chance and it was the end of the 1st season when she started her get rid of Chan if you want to call it an agenda, same was true for BeeBad. Me it was the beginning of the end for me with the 39-3 beating we took at BDS. Techie, Bunger, and many others were berated like the red headed step child. But many were still allowed to post here. The name calling did start with the pro Gailey faction calling people "assholes" among other names with no repercussions from the mods here. GTDean was a master of the diatribes. Many, myself included were banned for responding. So BO came to life where one could say what was on ones mind without much fear of being labeled this or that.

Did BB censor posts? I have heard he did. During that time I was spending a lot of time in Europe so I was unable to see/read what was censored. People like Beeware were banned both here there and everywhere as they should have been. Then you had people like Stateline who jumped ship from BO came here and berated everyone on BO.

The point I'm making is if you liked Gailey or not does not make you any less or more of a fan than any one else and should not have caused you to be called an asshole, a dawg etc, as there should not have been any censoring on BO since it prides itself as an open forum of GT sports.

You really don't get it. Pointing out problems with the team is one thing, and I've done it myself. Stating that we need a coaching change can be a valid opinion and I've done that myself as well. But ridiculing the team is over the line.

I haven't said who is less of a fan anywhere in this thread. But it is my team...I'm an alum and I've followed the Jackets for almost 40 years. So tell me we don't do something well, or that we need to upgrade coaching or talent, but don't make the kind of jokes about our team that ugag fans would make. I make fun of ugag, not Tech. It's as simple as that.

Peepad is the one GT "fan" (and I use that term loosely and in disbelief) I know who (1) moderates a GT message board, (2) starts threads on that message board to rile up a fan base already in turmoil, (3) uses the foulest of obscenities to describe GT coaches, fans and players, (4) shuts down a message board after a WIN so that happy fans can't go there, (5) uses his position as a board moderator to stalk posters, and (6) now expects us to believe he's a GT fan. Due to the competitive nature of message boards it is certainly understandable that rivalries have formed over the years amongst posters. If anyone prefers to not listen to the show that is certainly their choice.

However, if you choose to not listen to the show you will miss guests that we have had on like Calvin Johnson, Phillip Wheeler, Matt Rhodes, Travis Bell, AJ Smith, Osahon Tongo, Tyler Davis and many others. We will be having many more high quality guests such as these in the future. Of course we are fortunate to have Adamm Oliver "The Machine" every show sharing his insight into Tech football and experiences in preparing for the NFL.

Regarding our partner, BeeBad, in speaking with players, their families and those close to the Tech program it is remarkable how many people read BuzzOFF on a regular basis. This probably explains why our largest live show audience by far was BeeBad's 1st appearnce on the show and why since he joined the the show we have received a significant jump in our listener base. So while some of you may choose to not listen, we fully understand...however, many more people are listening since he joined.

Really this is quite a matter of semantics. your board is going to get more and more listeners as the weeks go forward. So its not surprising that peepad's shows have had more listeners. I'm sure if you advertised BarrelORum versus Beebad in an online forum discussion, I guarantee you that you would have the most listeners EVER.

Once he's gone I doubt the listeners will go with him.

your show's value right now is on par with Geraldo Rivera or Ricky Lake. The ratings are because you have listeners hoping to hear two people get into a fight.

OF, MsTA never gave Gailey a chance. From day 1 Mac was her man, and when he didn't get the job, she gave Gailey hell. Same with beeware. Beebad didn't show up until year 2 or 3 of Gailey's reign.

There's no denying he censored Buzzoff. I don't know if he'd lie about it, but ask him. He uplled many posts (mine and his) that showed how hypocritical he is. then I got banned...twice.

OF, most of the buzzoffers were calling for Gailey's head after 1 year, or 2 years. I will stand by the fact that, in 2003, Gailey did a hell of a job to keep our team above water. With Flunkgate, a freshman QB, and probation he had to deal with, he never let the team die, like a Lewis did. Obviously, Gailey wasn't the long term answer, but he did not damage GT as all the BO'ers would like you to believe.
