Can Deion coach? We don't need another hype man, and I dunno if he brings in enough NIL money alone. Perhaps he can unite atlanta around tech, but I'd rather bring him in as a DC if that's what we want him for.
I think you’re on to something here. Collins only play is to tank the program so bad no other coach will take the job unless we pay way more money that we got! He works himself into a situation where we can’tWe would have to pay a fortune to recruit great coach to take over this mess.
This is what concerns me most, GT goes to mid-major or worse. We won't "drop" sports , but will drop to D-2 type level. Can't keep up with $$$ culture these days.
Thisbecause I am already doing it and I don't want to stop
I'm gonna take some heat for this for sure, but we should've gotten Jeff Monken from Army when we had the chance. And we still should.
The argument isn't "option man bad" it's actually the opposite. CPJ was the best at the flexbone offense, anyone we get from his coaching tree would only be a downgrade from results that were good, not great, but trending downwards. We swung for the fences on a high upside, unproven hire on the basis that he'd turnover the roster so, if he failed, we'd at least setup the next coach for success. We didn't anticipate the extent to which he would fail, he hasn't recruited nearly as well as expected, and NIL/free transfer has ruined the roster turnover logic kind of like the proliferation of spread offenses and away from power football post 2008 negated the logic that CPJ wouldn't have to recruit directly against the powerhouses for the same skillsets. We basically wasted 4 years and screwed ourselves out of any sight of bowl contention because we think we are too good for him or anyone else who is even loosely associated with CPJ. We have a contingent of fans who would rather lose than win with an option based offense.

Who said anything about adapting? We cant simultaneously hild that cpj was the best 3/o coach but he failed because he didn't adapt yet his coaching tree will never be better even though they are adapting
The evidence of relative success of Paul and his protégés exists. Don't be GSUIf that was the argument, then we really outsmarted ourselves. Anyone who thinks Monken couldn't be better than CPJ is simply dumb. CGC worked for CCG, therefore he couldn't possibly recruit or coach any better than Chan (see how dumb that sounds).
