09 Clemson memories :)

Plenty of schadenfreude found here:

“I got thousands of subscribers from my video with GT last year, but I don’t expect that to happen, because there won’t be controversy this year. The canes will dominate”
Hubris. This guy better eat some dog öööö out of a solo cup.

He was half right though, there wasn't any controversy.

Miami must really hate us. They've blown it against us multiple times now. I had to look it up, but I recall this 2005 game when they were #3 lol.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned previously but the play of our OL was spectacular along with our WR in terms of blocking. We rushed for over 270 yards on a D that had been giving up an avg of just over 90. Also, the pass protection was excellent. One final observation, we didn't give up field position due to lousy kick coverage. Kudos!

What a perfect day....a few observations:
- flew up with Beeski Jr. to live the Suite life (thank you Luke)
- Cam Ward is really, really good. We beat a very good legit top-10 team
- We didn't win due to Miami turnovers.....we beat them.
- King's injury might be his left arm / ribs. He was extending his right arm to be picked up by teammates after tackles. I've had a torn rotator cuff, you don't do that if your shoulder is injured.
- The 2-headed QB....how freaking brilliant by our O-coaches. And the players pulled it off. No false starts (well maybe one), no fumbled snaps, and kept them honest with occasional King passes and Philo runs.
- The 4th down stops......what a great effort by the D, all phases, all game.
- A full stadium is so cool. Props to Miami fans for showing up. More props to the Students.
- As an old fart, I don't like the piped in music either, but the students do. I'll sacrifice tradition for change if that's what it take to fill the student section and get them as passionate as they were / have been. If they could scale back 15-25% of the music, and turn the volume down a bit, It would make for a better experience for those of us over 40.
- caught a bit of Big Boi....pre-game concerts are a good idea
- we should have requested a gold crane for the Edge building site. so weird having open space there, makes the mid-town view even better.
- will be interesting what we do at QB for NCSU and Ugag. I trust the coaches.
- going to my first Hoops game Sunday in a while (I go back to Cremins 1st season), and Beeski Jr's first game

Good times for you both. What a memory for you both yesterday. Jr will be off to college before you know it.

We have a talented team, and it's evident. Today's victory demonstrates what we are capable of doing when our coaching staff actually does its homework and puts together a well thought out gameplan for our opponents. We can beat anyone on any given Saturday if we're properly prepared.

Go Jackets!

And when our best players are on the field, even if just for less than a half.

Morning-after assessment: it doesn't get much better than that. Top 5 win on homecoming to become bowl eligible. We have officially moved past the clown era.
Bro. Don’t stain this thread with any mention of that crap. We are a legitimate program with a winning head coach who isn’t looking to make excuses when we lose. Our team fights hard and doesn’t quit. I knew we had moved on and were in good hands in Brent’s interim season. The way the kids showed up for him in a way they didn’t the first half of the season told the story. Go Jackets baby.
