Jeff Monken and USCe

The spread option never works at any level. USCe should close their program if they are considering a risky gimmick. Look what happened here- we were the laughingstock of college football from 2008-2018 and now we should just give up football altogether.
Paul Johnson destroyed georgia tech and should be criminally prosecuted for fraud. I would rather lose every game 73-7 than have that grifter's shell game on hallowed Grant Field again.

OOOH but what about the orange bowls and the championship games? those were accomplished through illegal and unscrupulous blocking techniques any tech fan should disown.

If you supported tech athletics in any way during those option years, you should delete your account.

Bad thing is, a team could integrate some 3-O concepts into their offense and own college football. You could come out, run 5-6 3-O plays, go back into a shotgun offense, really change it around. A good 3-O isn't really a specific play call. QB puts ball in belly, reads defense, if he pulls he can keep or pitch. Throw in speed option and a few counters and you have a few plays added to the repertoire. If I coached a team and had a QB I put in for wildcat situations, I'd 3-O

They can do that without bringing in a 3-O coach though. The Wildcat is garbage.

See Ralph Friedgen; Joe Hamilton.

USCe only has to look at us to see the deleterious effects the TO has on a program.

Anyone who thinks a TO coach is going to get USCe competitive with Clemson and the mutts is high.
A TO coach could get a program with talent competitive... for three years. Then the opposing coaches are used to the packages and the talent on the team is gone. After that you hope for miracles on player development and your conference foes to have high coaching turnover.

You sound like the AOC of college football. LOL.

Why is no one in this thread worried that USCe will try to steal Patenaude? He was a huge success at Coastal Carolina so he knows the recruiting region. I personally hope they hire Monken so the SEC has to dedicate weeks of practice to defend against an antique offense and UGA has to move their bye week.

He also diluted his schedule at Navy, which does wonders for getting a team in bowls.

No one loved playing patsies the way Paul did.

Played 21 P-5 schools in his 6 years at Navy, with a record of 9-12, including wins over Stanford, Notre Dame, and Pittsburgh.

In the previous 6 years before Paul Johnson, Navy played 18 P-5 schools, with a record of 4-14.

spare us your whataboutism and random 'facts'

The option >never< works. Everyone knows this, even a simpleton. Are you not even on that intellectual level?

Enjoy your MTSU, BYU, LSU blowout games. We're watching modern football Saturday. We throw the ball. We have TIGHT ENDS, swag and adidas.

CPJ's offense wasn't built for 1st and 10.

Maybe you should go back to athens.

Dumbest post ever on any message board. Just a hate filled rant.
