Jeff Sims

All in all, Jeff Sims reminds me of Jeff Sims.

Exactly right...which I think we can all agree is a combination of Manning's game awareness, Brady's competitive drive, Wilson's leadership, Vick's speed, Rodgers' pocket awareness, Mahomes arm strength, Tebow's faith, Jackson's raw athletic ability, and Farve's ability to sell jeans....that's a given.

There’s only one Vad Lee.

Hard not to get excited seeing a QB stand in the pocket, have good protection, scan the field, and make an accurate throw to one of 10 players who caught the ball Saturday against FSU. There was one play, in particular, where I was amazed at the pocket he had to operate in. Hell, we weren't playing Carson Newman or someone like that. Our OL did a fantastic job. Sims looked cool, collected, looked at his connections

Exactly this. My main complaint last year was OL and QB related in that there was never a pocket and the QB was running as soon as the ball was snapped. Improvements by both had Sims standing tall in the pocket and throwing darts.

Sims reminds me of Vince Young more than Lamar Jackson Long striding quick runner big arm
Actually, I was surprised how quick Sims' feet were, and how short his stride was, given his height. Big tall QB's usually take a while to get up to speed due to that long striding phenomenon. But he was really shifty in the pocket and plenty quick in traffic.

There is a saying something like "everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth" or wtte.

It seemed like we kept Sims pretty clean. That cant happen forever. I hope Sims is one of those guys that can handle it. Take a punch so to speak. Some QBs look great until they get crushed one time good and then they get "happy feet" or some other bad emergence. This happens to kickers sometimes. Example might be the FSU kicker that many said we "broke".

I think I know the play you’re talking about only because I had the same thought, “Wow, a pocket...and wow! He’s staying in it...and WOW He’s working through progressions! And he’s a freshman!”

I think it may have been the throw down the sideline from the broken play.

The ball to Ezzard was a beautiful drop shoulder to evade a rusher and then step up and deliver a seed as Ezzard, who had run an out, turned up field.

Yeah he may have even just thrown the ball away on the play I was thinking of. It was in the first half as I was unable to watch after that.
