Jeff Sims

I don’t like the 3rd and shorts out of the gun, but it is what it is.
Passing game was much better than last year. Running game had some real slow developing plays but we eventually started making some headway.
Hopefully he keeps it up. I’m still not sold on Pnode, but I want to believe.

see!!! You learned something from CPJ

FSU co worker said he wasn't impressed with Sims and we can have him. And no, I didn't bring it up.
I said, "Good, cause we are gonna keep him at least 3 years"

Lamar is a top 2 NFL QB right now. Any comparisons to him seek like a stretch.
Not to mention they aren't even that similar. Lamar is a MUCH better athlete, but Sims is a better passer at this point in his career. Tyrod Taylor is not a bad comp, though.

No. Camp made a good play. It was in the catch radius.

Just like the FSU te on their first TD. Oh, wait. Their only TD.
That throw to Camp, over the middle, where he had to twist around and catch it is a spot where Sims can improve. If he puts the ball in front of Camp it's probably a TD.

I loved JT5 but I don't think he ever threw the ball like Sims just did. Very, very impressive.

So apparently Jeff Sims is going to be a lankier Tyrod Taylor, a bigger Lamar Jackson, a more accurate Nesbitt, EJ Manuel, and Joe Hamilton, after one game.

Can he just be Jeff Sims? I'd like him better that way. Any comparison to Lamar and Nesbitt right now(especially after one game) is ludicrous.
Anyway, so excited for what we've got for the next 3+ years. He's a special player with so much potential.
Which athlete had a bigger impact on their sport, on society, and on the record books: Babe Ruth, Wayne Gretzy, or Michael Jordan? Willie Mays or Wilt Chamberlain? Sachin Tendulkar or Lionel Messi? Secretariat or Muhammad Ali? Give us an hour on each as your demo reel.

He's gone plaid

Michael Jordan riding Secretariat would have made no impact on any sport. The world is a weird place.

No idea what point you're trying to make here.

I’ve skimmed a lot of opposing team boards the last 24 hours as a lot of ACC/SEC fans were following the game. The main themes I consistently saw were:

1) lol @ fsu
2) Collins will have Tech contending for the Coastal soon
3) Sims looks like a real player
There's also comments about FSU looking slow and small. I assume this is because we were whipping their asses and they assume we're slow and small, so FSU must be worse.

FSU boards say we have better players

And that comparisons to past greats is one of the highest forms of flattery in sports?
Yes, and also that we've got a pretty small data set to go on right now. It's fun to imagine his trajectory. As his data set grows, we'll be talking about him qua him more and more, and him qua some other QB less and less.

Some folks are just downers, man.

My son was born in 2002. After that 1st drive he said he has never seen GT complete that many passes in one drive in his life. After the game he said he couldn’t believe that was a GT QB. He plans to get into GT next fall (fingers crossed) and have Sims most of his time as a student.

qua is one of my favorite players, too
