On the other hand, Clown's last job before he became a HC (where he took over for Rhule) was working for Rhule. Matt might be throwing a little blame around right about now.
Matt Rhule knew exactly how Sims had quit on his previous team. He also knew of Sims uneven performances when he did decide to play. Rhule got Sims to come to Nebraska. He has nobody but himself to blame.

His body language and lack of facial expressions/attitude always bothered me. He always looks like he is wondering where he is and how he got there. The dude will then throw an interception in a crucial moment and walk off with the expression like nothing just happened.

I just remembered a back and forth I had with a guy inside the F$U program late in the recruiting cycle when Sims was still an F$U commit and we were trying to flip him.

Such high hopes I had after he signed with us.

In one sense, Sims was like an on-the-field version of his head coach.

It was Clown's job to figure out who can get it done and who can't. It's also his job to have the backup prepared. He failed on both fronts.
The clown ööööed not only Sims but the entire program by not bringing in a capable backup for fear that Jeff Simms would transfer. Apparently, there were threats to transfer if another capable QB was brought in. Also our backups were not the same type of QB so any time one QB got hurt, we were severely limited in playcalling. Speaking of playcalling, taisun pommahchon was not given anything close to the full playbook. Besides our own woes, the lack of true competition for Sims likely led to his softness.

That sounds like a guy let's his woman see other guys so that she doesn't leave him. There might be a word for that...

Had he not refused to play in the UGAg game his treatment would be much better. As it is, the young man just quit on his team. Most all of us were pulling for him to make it big. Still, I have a hard time wanting him to fail to somehow make me feel better. It won’t.
Wasn’t the game he refused to go in earlier in the season? Or was that two years ago?

I wasn't there, but that's what was said. Perhaps it was the Miami game? TBH, I've tried to flush all that.
It was vs. Miami.....he was injured in the Duke game and then again in the first half of the UVA game And went out, but practiced and was cleared to play if needed against Miami

He was kicked off the team by then.
Was he kicked? I've not heard that, but I have heard that he was relegated to the end of the bench. Again, what is true or not is lost in all the social media blah-blah these days.

After the Miami game, Key announced Jeff was going to be “apart from the team” while recovering from his injury that he had been medically cleared of.
Yeah, he got booted from the team.

I never noticed this until the end of Nebraska's first game. He threw that terrible interception to lose the game, and looked zoned out after the game ended.
