Good call. Kansas State HC Chris Klieman is another good pick. Guy is a proven championship level HC. They will probably go ”all in” for Saban like Texas tried to do. That said, they will likely have to compete with UF for an HC. TAMU has the $$$ to outbid pretty much anyone it seems. But unlike recent years, there aren’t many big names to choose from.

Another good candidate. But you're right, there aren't a lot of names out there. Kiffin is holding out for you know who.
 
Wonder how many clandestine sting ops were launched at Jimbo over the past year to try and Mel Tucker him? Jimbo is pretty smart, I bet he hasn't even spoken to a woman out of the public eye without witnesses or recordings in 2 years. 76 million to walk away.....wow.

Especially since he was in the spotlight before when his then-wife was ööööing a former player or manager or coach or somebody while Jimbo was at FSU.

If he contract is like every other one, it’ll be cheaper to fire him at the end of the season. Any coach you’d want is unavailable until the end of the season, so might as well wait.

at least in the Clown situation, we did it after another unacceptable loss

Also turned out the "cheaper at the end of the season" in that case didn't take effect til New Years.

It won't change til schools with that much money stop being afraid of having schools with similar amounts of money grab their coaches. That's one reason for it at least, isn't the only one.
 
Do the fans/boosters think they will leap frog Bama, LSU, Texas, OU, Auburn, or Georgia year in and year out?
And who’s going to be the next ex A&M coach getting a payout?

I don’t think a few extra million matters to TAMU at this point, considering they owe him $76 million. It allows them to begin the search and get ahead of someone like UF who is rumored to be considering a change as well.
